Lance is coming to town!

Today Lance Armstrong and all of the other riders in the Amgen are due to ride though my little town at 1:30pm. This is a big deal for our little town. Hopefully the weather will behave, we have been having rain/snow all week. Go Lance!

Mojo 74--What Lies Before Us

I just love the inspiration I get from the Mojo sketches. For this card I used some of the new Bo Bunny Abbey Road print cardstock and two colors of Bazzill Dotted Swiss cs. (brown and blue). The sentiment and butterfly are both from Penny Black (one of my all time fav companies), oh you probably already knew that though. The lace trim was natural color and I needed it to be brown, so out came my Copic marker. Voila! Brown trim. I also colored the butterfly with two colors of blue Copic markers for the wings and Lt Brown for the body. I finished the card off with some Bling and a Pearl (butterflies head) from Kaisercraft. Just a bit of Stardust pen here and there for a final touch. Oh, it's American Idol time. See you all tomorrow! hugs to all,

Moments-VLVFeb03

I just found a great challenge over in the Verve forum at SCS. It is called the Viva La Verve challenge. There is a sketch with a twist each week and the challenge for this week was to use a monochromatic color scheme. I love monochromatic cards and really enjoyed putting this one together. The stamp says: Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away. I think this is one of my favorite verse stamps ever. If you want more info on the challenge, you can get all of the deets here.

Stamps: Phrase-Verve, Bee-A Stamp in the Hand

Cardstock: Solid Green-Bazzill, Prints-Greenhouse Paperie from Making Memories

Ink: Lettuce Adirondack

Embellies: Ribbon-Greenhouse Paperie Collection, Blingies-Kaisercraft, Stardust Pen

Happy Valentines Day!

Here is the Valentine I made for my sweetie. The stamps are from CHF/Kim Hughes and the papers are from the Rouge Paperie collection from Making Memories. The bees were colored in with copics and some Diamond Stickles was added to the wings. The image was stamped in Espresso Adirondack ink. The brown satin ribbon was from Julee at Verve.

David gets up way early in the morning, so I put it right by the coffee pot for him to find. He is sure not to miss it there!

Happy Valentines Day to all of my family and friends. I hope this day finds you snugglie with your loved ones.

More snow!

Well, they said it was a comin'. It started to snow here about 7:00 this morning and didn't stop until early afternoon. Here is a new picture showing about 8 - 10" in the driveway. I don't think they ever came and plowed our neighborhood. David was stuck in Coarsegold for a few hours because Deadwood grade was closed and he couldn't get home. I called the school and had Jon come home early as I didn't want him stranded either. So here we are holed up for now. A good night for chili and cornbread. Yum!

Snowflakes make me smile!

The top two pics were taken this morning just after the sun came up. We have had snow off and on since Monday. We are expecting some more snow through the weekend.

I had created the snowflake background that I used above quite some time ago and when I saw the snow this morning, I couldn't wait to pull it out and use it. All of the cardstocks used were from my stash. The snowflakes are from my Cuttlebug Snowflake die and a Martha Stewart punch. The small snowflakes are covered with Art Institute Glass Glitter. The stamped snowflakes are from a clear set by Gelatins. The sentiment panel was cut out with my nesties. The phrase is from Inky Antics.

Have a great day,

Valentine Greetings--Mojo Monday #73

Wow, I love this sketch! I think it is my favorite so far. As soon as I looked at it I knew exactly what I was going to do. I know I will use it again and again. Thanks Julee!

The stamps used are from Memory Box and the print cardstocks are from the Making Memories Rouge Paperie collection. The enameled brad is from the same collection. The base cardstock is cream Bazzill and the red cardstock is from Worldwin. The wide pink ribbon is from May Arts and is really a favorite of mine to use. I stamped the birds with Espresso Adirondack ink and colored it in with a little pink on the tummys of the birds. I pulled out my Radiant Pearls (ok, I know this dates me) and colored the branch and the berries. When it was done, I decided it needed a little bling and added some tiny fingernail rhinestones to the berries. I can't wait to give this card to someone very special.

Snow Day!

Well, today sure did start out interesting! Last night it started snowing and when we got up this morning everything was so pretty and white outside. Our driveway is pretty steep and curvy and David couldn't get his truck up the driveway (company truck isn't 4WD), so he was pretty much homebound for the day. The power had gone out sometime in the night and well, when you live in the country there are some major pitfalls about not having power. No power, no water. No water, no nothin'. So, I put on my big girl britches, packed a bag with my make up and hair products and headed out to work. David called about 4:30 to let me know the power was back on. Dang, I thought I might get out of cooking dinner.

More snow is expected during the week. I hope I get a chance to take some pictures!

I am off to work on the Mojo Monday sketch.

Mojo 72 --- Showin' ya the backside!

Heck no, not my backside.....blech! However, I did create this weeks Mojo Monday card using the backside (secondary print) from 3 of the SEI Lovebirds collection cardstocks. The fronts are all springy feeling and the backs are more muted using browns and peach tones.
I really like the sketch this week, it went together pretty quickly too (only 1 hour versus all day).
The floral stamp used was from the Kim Hughes Nature Silhouettes collection. The verse stamp is from the Hero Arts Special Messages set. The dark aqua cardstock is Dotted Swiss from Bazzill. You can't see the dots on the front, but they look cool on the inside and back of the card. I used Martha's lace punch and a button and chipboard flower (covered) from my stash.
Well, I off to eat a little Maui Zowie pizza for dinner........YUM-O!
hugs,
