This week I was fortunate to be the winner of this beautiful Bloom set from There She Goes Clear Stamps (thanks Jessica). As soon as it arrived I knew I wanted to use it to create a birthday card for TSG's first birthday.

Enjoy Life.........that says it all doesn't it! I created this card for one of the DTGD challenges a few weeks ago (I still have a couple more to share from DTGD). I covered 3 different challenges with this card. They were: Black/White with a touch of Red, Paper Tole and the last was to use some sort of texture.
I stamped the floral, butterfly and words (all Hampton Arts) on the base panel and then stamped it a second time on scrap and cut it out. Let me tell you, there were lots of little nooks and crannies to cut around! I did the same for the butterfly. After I layered the cut floral and butterfly to the base panel, I added some black satin ribbon as a final touch.
It's late and I am yawning, so I better hit the hay!

Last weekend I had the honor of being invited to Sonora, CA to teach a sweet group of ladies two classes. The first class was Copic 101 where I taught them about the markers, which inks and cardstocks to use and then how to color and achieve great shading with Copics. Everyone was so great and the best part was, they brought food! There were chips/dips, roll ups, little deviled egg, ham and olive sammys and a low fat bundt cake that was to die for. They even shared their recipes with me! Oh, I am happy!!!!
The second class was a variation of the Butterfly class that I taught locally a couple of months ago. There were 3 coordinating cards with lots of little punched out butterflies in pretty colors. I forgot to take my camera in with me so I didn't get any pictures, but believe me the ladies were the best! Oh, I hope they let me come back and "teach" them again sometime.
I was hosted by a very sweet woman named Heather that I had met several years ago online and we found that we lived just a few hours away from each other. Heather came to the shop that I work in awhile back and we were able to meet in person at that time. She graciously opened her home to me and cooked for me too! It doesn't get any better than that!
Until we meet again,

I loved Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch yesterday and couldn't wait to get into the studio and play. I know it's a bit hot outside and I should have used a summery image, but I have had this little Anna Wight kitty from the Cozy Critters set out on my desk waiting to be used. So I went with it and just love the way it turned out. I used several colors of Copics to color the little guy to match Peachy, one of the cats at The Cat's Meow. Peachy and I are buddies, especially when I have turkey or chicken for lunch!
Oh, I digress, back to the card. I paper pieced Mr. Kitty's scarf and hat. Anna must have cackled like a hen, when she drew the little scarf. I am sure she knew that someone would want to paper piece it and make themselves a crazy loon in the cutting out process. Anna wins!
The cute little santa hat is from the same set and was much easier to paper piece. Whew! For the white parts of the hat, I added a little Carrera Marble glitter from Martha. Very cool in person! The button and sentiment are in true AW style also.
