Two for Tuesday

Hi there! I thought I would share two cards that I created this summer. See, I told you I had a bunch of stuff I needed to clean out of my "to be blogged" folder. :) Both of these cards were created for the Dare to get Dirty challenges over on SCS back in July. This card covered two DTGD challenges. They were: DTGD09debdeb Moved by Music and DTGD09Toy Color My World

The color part was easy, I didn’t have the exact cardstock, so I used colors that I thought were pretty close. The Moved by Music part was TOUGH! I looked at my stamps and drew a blank. I saw this cute little surfboard stamp by Savvy sitting on my shelf and the song Surfin’ Safari by the Beach Boys came into my head. I finished it off with this cute little sentiment from Anna Wight/Whipper Snapper
This card covered three DTGD challenges. They were: DTGD09BevMom Sew Unexpected, DTGD09rainy Sketch Challenge and DTGD09PickleTree Born to be Wild

I pondered over this card for a couple of days, I knew I needed to combine these challenges in order to get them all completed and uploaded on time. I picked this great DP from Bo Bunny’s Abbey Road collection and added some chocolate cs from Prismatics as the base and accent pieces. I faux sewed down the sides of the center piece and added some bling. The cute little owl and the sentiment are from Hero Arts. The ribbon is from my stash.
hugs,

Partridge in a Pear Tree

Happy Saturday! It's rainy, cold and windy here today. I have been in the studio for most of the day creating a few cards and tags for Christmas. I have several Christmas cards that I have not posted yet, so over the next few days I will try to get through them all and get caught up. (wishful thinking)

This card is one I did for a class last month. This cute little Partridge in a Pear Tree is from Stampendous. I colored it with Copic markers and then added some Spica Glitter pens and a few red flat nailheads to the berries for a little extra detail. I'm pretty sure a partridge isn't blue, but what the heck, he's cute! The details are below:

Stamps: Partridge in Pear Tree (Stampendous) Cardstock: Racy Raspberry, Deep Green (Treasures by Worldwin), Neenah CC Natural Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Extras: Copics, Spica Glitter Pens, Divine Swirls CB EF, Petite Oval Classic and Scallop Nesties

Christmas Treat Recipe Blog Hop

Several members of the Center Stage Spotlight Team have joined together to share a special Christmas Treat Recipe Blog Hop event with everyone tonight! They have whipped up some treats in their kitchens and their stamp rooms over the past few weeks so we could compile our very first Recipe Book for StampTV!

Hi there! The recipe I am sharing tonight is a quick and easy favorite around my house. I hope you will like them too! I am going to keep my post short and sweet so you can continue along on the hop. The cookie recipe and card recipe are listed below.

Peanut Butter Dream Bites

Ingredients: · 1 1/4 cups flour, sift or stir before measuring · 1/2 teaspoon salt · 1 teaspoon baking powder · 1/2 cup butter · 1/2 cup peanut butter · 1/2 cup granulated sugar · 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed · 1/2 teaspoon vanilla · 1 egg · 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (for topping)

For crust: Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder; set aside. Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars; beat in vanilla and egg. Stir in flour mixture, blending well. Place dough in lightly greased 13” x 9” baking dish and flatten to create cookie bottom. Bake at 375° for about 14 to 16 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before adding chocolate topping.

For topping: Melt chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments until chips are melted. Pour chocolate over peanut butter crust and refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Cut into bite sized squares and enjoy!

Recipe for Peace, Hope, Love card: Stamps: Festive Frame, A Year of Flowers (Gina K. Designs) Cardstock: PL Ivory, PL Chocolate Kiss, PL Rocket Red (Gina K. Designs), Vintage DP (Webster’s Pages) Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa Embellishments: Cuttlebug Textile Texture EF, Brown Rhinestones (Kaisercraft), Copic Markers (E31, Blender) Check out these designer's blogs for the sweet projects they've designed around their treats:

Then, stop by GinaK's blog for a super sweet give-away she has tonight in honor of the hop!

The Recipe Book will be available as a free download PDF on StampTV tonight as well. Look for it on the Freebie Tab link.

Snowman Gift Card Holder

Hi there! We were due to get our first snow of the year later today, so I thought I would create something with this cute little snowman from Inkadinkado. I surfed some of my favorite challenge blogs and decided to combine two challenges to create this little gift card holder. Over at Crazy 4 Challenges they asked us to create a gift card holder and on the Just Us Girls blog my pal Pam posted a great sketch for this week. I turned the sketch on its side for my project.

I started with a piece of Twilight Dark Prismatic cardstock cut into a 3 1/2" x 12" strip and then scored it at 5" and 10". I embossed the front panel and the bottom 2" with my Cuttlebug and folded the 2" piece up to create a pocket for my gift card (the white piece on the "inside" pic is my "faux gift card") I promise to get a real one before I give it away :) The snowman is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white shimmer cardstock and colored with my Copics. The snowman and sentiment were cut out with my Classic Oval Nesties and layered to Nautical Blue Light scallop oval panels. The sentiment on the inside is from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings set. I finished off with layered MS snowflake punches, ribbon and rhinestones.

I hope your Sunday was great and your Monday will be even better!

Snowy Trees

Good morning! Today I am sharing a fun card that I made for this weeks sketch (STVSCJH01)over at StampTV. My friend Jennie will be hosting the sketch challenges for the next 3 months and she would love it if you would join in on the fun! Each week Gina K. gives away a stamp set to one lucky person, all you have to do is create a card using the sketch and upload it to your StampTV gallery using the proper tag for the week.

I started by cutting the petite oval nestie and then stamping the trees with Adirondack Meadow, the window pane with Adirondack Espresso and sponged the edges with Colorbox Dune before removing the image from the die. Then I layered it up with a couple more ovals and attached to the main panel. It is hard to see but there is gltter all over the trees and on the panes of the window. So sparkly in person! On the left is a pic of the inside of the card and on the right is a detail shot (you can always click on them to see them bigger) .

I hope you all have a great day! I have some errands to run and some baking to do!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Tree Silhouettes, Hip to be Square, Signed with Love, Festive Frame (GKD)
Cardstock: PL Ivory, PL Kraft, PL Fresh Asparagus (GKD), Glitter paper from Christmas Stack by My Mind's Eye Inks: Adirondack Espresso & Meadow, Colorbox Dune
Extras: Glitter, Dew Drops, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF, Petite Oval Nesties (classic and scallop)
all non GKD supplies can be purchased at: The Cat's Meow

Reindeer Rex

Isn't this little puppy cute? He is from Poppystamps (a little division of Memory Box). I colored him to look similar to my little dog Wags (see photo to the right). Wags has a couple of very light tan spots, but is mostly white. Some say he is a Parson Russell Terrier, but we are not sure as he was a rescue dog. It doesn't matter what he is, we LOVE him!

I stamped a snowflake from Kaisercraft's Merry Christmas clear set in Versamagic White ink on a PL Kraft card, I then layered this fun red dot cardstock to an ivory panel that was punched with the EK Scallop Scallop Edger punch. I also punched one side of an aqua dot panel and layered with red dot and the image panel. Both of the dot cardstocks are from the Poppystamps Snow and Cedar 6 x 6 paper pack. Rex was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and spotted with my E31 Copic marker, the edges of the spots were softened with my Copic Colorless Blender. I paper pieced his scarf and then I cut the aqua dot snowflake out with my Cuttlebug die and inked it and the wooden snowflake from Kaisercraft with my Glue pad and covered them with Vintage Glass Glitter and combined the two with an aqua pearl brad from American Crafts. I purchased my Poppystamps and Kaisercraft goodies here.
