Round or Square......or Both!

Whew!  I am finally rested after all of the Christmas festivities and had some time today to do a little stamping.  I always love the Round/Square Mojo Monday challenges and rarely have the time to play along.  Today, I made the time for Mojo Monday 171 and ended up with one of each.

For my roundy, I started with some print paper from the Basic Grey Curio collection and built my card around that.  I love this sentiment from the Verve Beautiful You set and felt like it was a good match for the print paper.  I tell you working with all those circles was fun, but it was nice to plop the square right up on top of them all.  I dressed this one up with some olive silk ribbon and a pretty little paper flower.  Pretty foolproof, even for me.  =)

I changed it up a bit for my square card by rounding the bottom corners and changing the circle for a fun buttony bow.  The adorable little bird is from the Gina K. Designs Winter Wings set.  I am loving this little bird so much.  I bet she sings the sweetest songs!  I colored her in with an interesting combo of R and E Copic markers (listed below) and a bit of Gold Spica pen on her wings for a bit of sparkle.    Along with the Mojo Monday challenge, I am entering this card for the Button in a Bow challenge over at StampTV

Thanks for the great sketches Julee!  They were a blast to work with!

Merry Christmas to All

Hi there!  Just a short post from me today.  I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that you will be spending the holiday surrounded by loved ones and enjoying lots and lots of food, fun and festivities.  Say that fast three times, go ahead I dare ya!

We are having a Mexican Fiesta at our house today and then tomorrow we will have a traditional Christmas dinner at my in-laws.  Two whole days of yumminess!   Better go find my stretchy jeans!  :)

The card I am sharing is a re-post of my favorite Christmas card creation this year.  The details are in this post.  A few more of my favorites from this year are here, here and here.

Have a Wonderful Birthday

Hi there!  Just a quick post for you today.  I finally finished my card for this weeks sketch challenge over at StampTV.  You still have time to play along and have a chance to win a free stamp set.  You can find the details here.
I used the new set from Theresa Momber called The Giving Tree.  This set is great as there are so many elements you can add to the tree.  I love anything that has to do with the four seasons and this stamp set is that for sure.

Tell it to the Paw

Hello!  I was thinking it was a little chilly here today, but then I received an e-mail from my friend Karen this morning and she is staying in and doing some baking as it is a whopping 6 degrees where she is at.  I think it is supposed to be about 55 degrees here today.  That is short sleeve weather for her.  LOL

The card I am sharing with you today was created for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 96.  Every week I look at and save the awesome sketches that Karen creates and I always think I will have time to play along and then my week gets crazy and that is the end of that.  This morning I had some time and was bound and determined to play along.  I think this little bear from the Cat's Pajamas Big Bear set is adorable.  I knew I had to have this stamp as soon as I saw it and was thrilled when we received it at The Cat's Meow.  I bought it right away, I wanted to be sure to get him before he was gone.  LOL   The set has two different sentiments, one for the holidays and the one I used above.  I stamped Mr. Bear with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Ivory cardstock and colored with Copics markers (E33, E53 and E57).  I did a little paper piecing to his ears and paws, added some faux stitching, button and twine and called it good.

Well, I better get moving.  I have laundry to do today and the desk in my studio looks like a bomb went off.

CSS Sketch Hop

I am gathering with some of my fellow Center Stage Spotlight Alumni members for a fun sketch challenge.  Guess what, I created this sketch that we all used.  I really like this sketch and can't wait to see what my fellow CSSers do with it. You should have arrived here from seeing Lori's beautiful creation, if not you can go back to StampTV and start from the beginning....you don't want to miss a thing.

So, here is the sketch we used:

and here is my card:

I haven't made a shaker card in years so I decided I would break out the nesties and glitter and create one.  I stamped the trees from the GKD Winter Wonderland set in Meadow Adirondack ink onto a piece of print paper from Websters Pages. I layered up some more of these pretty papers for the front of the card, added some little snowflakes/ribbon/pearls and called it good.

Now for the inside of the card.  I used a sentiment from the GKD Festive Frame set.  I added another stacked snowflake with a little pearl in the center.

Now it is time for me to send you hopping on your way.  Head on over to Melissa's blog and check out her awesome creation.

Merry Christmas

Wow, Christmas will be here before we know it.  Are you ready yet?  I'm almost there.  Just a few more odds and ends and I can call it good.  I can't remember the last time I was finished with the major shopping this early in the month.  The card I am sharing with you today was created with this---------->
sketch for the StampTV challenge this week.  The challenge was on Monday, but I have misplaced my photo card and wasted way to much time looking for it, I have had to revert to the 32mg card that came with my camera.  Maybe Santa will bring me a new 2gb card in my stocking....hint, hint.
I really like how this card turned out.  It is so hard to see in the picture, but the trees are covered in the prettiest color of glass glitter.  The sparkle is scrumptios!  The trees are from the GKD Winter Wonderland STV kit and the sentiment is from the Fanciful Tags set.  The pretty background papers are from a My Mind's Eye Glitter cardstock pad from last year.

This is the inside of the card.  This picture is for one of my wonderful blog readers named Loretta.  Loretta was in the stamp store I work at one day and she came up to me and said to me that sometimes she could tell that there was something inside of my card, but it kinda made her crazy because she wanted to see what I had done.  So my dear sweet Loretta, this one is for you!  I used a bit more of that My Mind's Eye paper and one of my favorite holiday sayings from the GKD Festive Frame set.

Oh and for the one or two of you out there (and you know who you are) that know I have an issue with ffffffelt, yes I have felt snowflakes on my card.  Now don't get me wrong, I have seen lots of pretty things done in blogland with felt, it is just right up there with clowns for me.  LOL

Stamps:  Winter Wonderland, Fanciful Tags, Festive Frame- Gina K. Designs
Paper:  Tan and Teal-Prismatics, Prints-My Mind's Eye
Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa
Extras:  Sea Spray glass glitter, Nesties, Ribbon, Button, Pearls and even a bit of fffffelt!

GKD Release Party Challenges

Last Thursday night was the latest Gina K. Designs stamp release and along with the release there is a party and some challenges.  You have until Monday night at 7:00 pm Central time to play along and have a chance to win some new stamps.

The first challenge was from Carolina, she asked us to make a set of tags.  They could be for any theme, not just Christmas.  I chose to make these cute litte reindeer tags using the stamps from the Spirt of Christmas set.
Tina's challenge was next and she asked us to use 12 embellishments........not a problem!  I used stamps from the Winter Wonderland StampTV kit and 12 pretty little rhinestones.  Six of them on the sentiment panel and the other 6 are on the snowflakes.  This card will go perfectly with my Christmas tree....for the last several years my tree has been decked out from top to bottom with these colors and lots of icicles and snowflakes.
Jennie gave us our final challenge to make a gift.  I love giving out cookies, breads and treats at Christmas time......mmmm, who doesn't like a little something sweet?  I used stamps from the Winter Mittens and Signed with Love sets.

Well, I am off to bake my sweetie some Chocolate Chip cookies........yummy!

Hugs,
