Spring Basket Blessings
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Boy am I ever glad to be creating/posting again. We had a severe rain/wind/snow storm come through here about a week and a half ago and it left us without power for a whole week. We always get some snow here around this time of year, but nothing like this last storm. We lost several Manzanita trees and one big Oak tree and lots of limbs from the Oaks on our property. The entire city was out of power for about a day and a half. Our power company had to call in reinforcements to help get things up and running again. I saw power company trucks from Oregon, Montana, Colorado and Illinois. Even Yosemite National Park had to close because of the lack of power and danger of trees and rocks falling. I can't remember when that has ever happened before. Today I am sharing two projects that I made using stamps from the Spring Basket and Basket Blessings sets from Gina K. Designs. These sets were illustrated by the talented Melanie Muenchinger. Ya just gotta love her stuff!
For this sweet little basket, I stamped the basket image from the Spring Basket set two times onto kraft cardstock with brown ink. I colored the baskets with Copic markers. To combine the two basket images, I cut a strip of kraft cardstock 2 1/4" x 4 1/2 ". With the short side at the top, I scored 1/2" from both the left and right sides. With the long side at the top, I scored at 1 1/2" and 3". Fold on all score lines and then snip at the 1 1/2" and 3" up to the long score line to create the glue tabs. Add adhesive to the 1/2" tabs and attached to one side of the basket. Repeat for the other side. For the handles, I braided some twine and punched 1/8" holes and fed the twine through and tied them with a knot on the inside of the basket. The flowers/leaves were stamped in black ink and colored with Copics. It is hard to tell, but I covered the flowers/leaves with Glossy Accents and coated them with micro fine glitter. They match the littlle sugared eggs in the basket. To make the filler for the basket, I cut scraps of cardstock into teensy strips and crumpled them up. I just love how the basket turned out and will make more for sure.
For my card, I used the bunny and sentiment from the Basket Blessings set. By the way, this set compliments the Spring Basket set perfectly....you really do need both sets! The card is pretty simple in overall design, I added some flowers that I created with the MS Hydrangea punches and the flourish is a Sizzix die. I stamped the bunny in black ink and colored him lightly with Copic markers (COO, C01) with a touch of RV000 for the pink in the ear. Doesn't it look like that green flower is a cabbage and the bunny is about to eat it?
See you soon,

Oldie But Goodie Blog Hop
Today, I am joining in with some very talented stampers from the Facebook Design Divas group. Once a month we get together to share a card or project that was created with stamps, paper or supplies that are at least 6 months old.
For my card, I am using a stamp and some paper that is old. I used my MS Hydrangea punches to create the little flowers. They were finished off with some little red rhinestones. I am going to keep my post short as I don't have power at home (it has been out since Sunday night), and I am using the computer/internet at work to set up this post. I thank God because I have the best boss around!
The next stop on the hop is the ever so talented Barbara Wibel. Head on over and check out her amazing creation!

Wild Daisies
Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I am sharing a card I created for two different challenges. I used Monday's STVSKSP16 sketch challenge from StampTV along with Saturday's CR84FN18 color challenge . We were asked to use Kraft, Yellow and Orange. The stamps I used are from two of my favorite Melanie Muenchinger illustrated sets for Gina K. Designs. The adorable daisies are from the Spring Basket set and the sentiment is from the Wild at Heart set. I have been having a blast designing for Melanie this month, if you want to learn a little more about me, hop over to Melanie's blog as we had a little Q and A session.

Cased Eiffel Tower
Several weeks ago, I came across this beautiful red/black Eiffel Tower card that was created by Teneale Williams for the Case Study 23 challenge. It was love at first sight! I knew it was the perfect inspiration for when my creative brain needed a little lift. Today was the day! I created my card using the same layout, but added my own little twist. I knew that I wanted to use the colors of Black/White/Coral from this weeks Outlawz color challenge. I used a Nesties die for the background panel which I embossed with the CB Textile Texture EF. I stamped the Memory Box Eiffel Tower with black ink onto the backside of a piece of Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock and cut it out with my Petite Oval Nestie die. I created the frame with two Petite Oval dies and then ran it through the CB with the same embossing folder. Instead of using a big, beautiful bow like Teneale did, I added a spray of flowers to the bottom. You can't really tell in the picture of my card, but I covered the tower panel with a coat of Versamark Champagne Dazzle ink and two layers of clear embossing powder. The whole image has a beautiful sparkle to it. I finished off the card with some little layered butterflies from a Martha Stewart punch. If you get a chance, please pop by Teneale's blog and check out her amazing work. You are sure to be inspired too!

Think Pink!
Good Morning!
Today I am sharing another card that I created with the sweet Spring Basket set from Gina K. Designs. I choose to use this weeks CR84FN17 color challenge (did you see, I made their top 3 last week--squealing with joy) as my color inspiration and Monday's STVSKSP15 sketch challenge from StampTV.
I took a little creative liberty with the sketch and turned the squares on end. I colored the beautiful daisy spray with Copics and then punched three 1" squares and layered them to some light pink, bright pink and chartreuse graduated squares. The light pink panel was embossed with my very favorite Textile Texture Cuttlebug folder. Ribbon and bling were added to finish off the card.

Stamps: Spring Basket-Gina K. Designs
Paper: PL Passionate Pink-GKD, Lt. Pink-Stash, White-Neenah Solor White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Extras: Ribbon, Rhinestones, Sakura Glitter pen

A good place for a nap....
Good Morning!
Today I am sharing a card I made for last Friday's Outlawz Copic challenge. The challenge was to: Add Depth to Hair (Fur is okay too). I used this cute stamp from Shirley's Two Girls and went with the "fur" option. I stamped the image with black ink on white cardstock and colored with Copics. For the "fur" texture I just tapped the tip of the Copic blender pen here and there to give the effect of fur. I love this image so much because my dog Abby looks just like that when she is in my hubby's big chair.
The sentiment says "never, never, never pass up a good place for a nap"....isn't that the truth! The older I get the truer it is. I stamped it in black ink onto a piece of Bo Bunny paper from my vast stash. Someday I will get it all used up........yeah right! Never!!!!
Recipe:
Stamp: Dog in Chair-Shirley's Two Girls
Paper: Aqua, Black, Olive-Bazzill, Print-Bo Bunny, Neenah Solar White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Extras: CB Swiss Dots EF, Copics, Ribbon, Flower, Button
