Happy Birthday Blooms

Happy Birthday There She Goes!
This week I was fortunate to be the winner of this beautiful Bloom set from There She Goes Clear Stamps (thanks Jessica). As soon as it arrived I knew I wanted to use it to create a birthday card for TSG's first birthday.

I started by stamping the image several times on Neenah Classic Crest with Espresso Adirondack Ink and then coloring with my Copic markers. I used YG02, YG07, YG09 and a touch of E37 for the flowers and G40, G82 and G99 for the stems and leaves. I cut the base image out with my Classic circle nesties and then sponged some Summer Sky Memento ink into background. The brown and yellow cardstocks are from Prismatics and the print is from Basic Grey's Marrakech collection. The brown satin ribbon is from my stash.
I wish you all a happy Sunday,

Enjoy Life

Enjoy Life.........that says it all doesn't it! I created this card for one of the DTGD challenges a few weeks ago (I still have a couple more to share from DTGD). I covered 3 different challenges with this card. They were: Black/White with a touch of Red, Paper Tole and the last was to use some sort of texture. I stamped the floral, butterfly and words (all Hampton Arts) on the base panel and then stamped it a second time on scrap and cut it out. Let me tell you, there were lots of little nooks and crannies to cut around! I did the same for the butterfly. After I layered the cut floral and butterfly to the base panel, I added some black satin ribbon as a final touch. It's late and I am yawning, so I better hit the hay!

You're the best!

{this is my second post for the day, scroll down to see the first}

There She Goes Clear Stamps is getting ready to celebrate their 1 year anniversary so I thought I would congratulate them by sharing a card I made using my favorite TSG set. You can find the new TSG Blog here.
This was one of the cards I created last month for the DTGD challenges at SCS. I think it might have been my favorite of all. It really is so much prettier in person. It is a biggie at 5 1/2" square.

I stamped the little leaves from the Flowers of Happiness set from There She Goes Clear Stamps in the background with Willow, Espresso and Meadow inks. I stamped the branch in Espresso and colored the leaves with my copics. I stamped the branch a second time and cut each leaf out and popped it up on a rolled up mini glue dot. You shoulda seen me doin' that one!I went over the branches and a bit of the leaves with my Stardust pen to give them a little shimmer. The circles were cut with my Classic Circle Nesties. This card looks so much better in person, I took lots of shots, but couldn't get the perfect one.

The details:
Stamps: Flowers of Happiness-TSG, You're the Best-Hero
Inks: Willow, Espress and Meadow Adirondack
Cardstock: White-Neenah, Chocolate and Dk Green-Prismatics, Glitter Stripe-My Mind's Eye
Extras: Copics, Ribbon-Amuse, Nesties, Stardust pen
See you again soon,

Enjoy Today

Happy Sunday!
I woke up to a gentle summer rain today and although I am not a fan of rain, we need it as we are at the peak of fire season here. I would much rather have the rain than a big ol' forest fire anyday.
On with the card.......this card is 4 x 6 in size, I just thought I would change it up a bit. I love this little butterfly/flower image from Verve's Enjoy set so much. I stamped it and colored it in with my Prismacolor pencils and then I decided to emboss it with clear powder. I love the way it came out. I added the word Enjoy from the same set. The leafy parts on the flower are from from the same set. The little round blossom is from the Budding Blossoms set. It is hard to tell, but the card base and layers are lt aqua from Prismatics, they almost look white in the pic.
This card is all packaged up and ready to be mailed along with a little gifty for a friend of mine that I haven't see for awhile now.
The details:
Stamps: Enjoy and Budding Blossoms-Verve
Cardstock/Paper: white from stash, print from Kaisercraft, dk aqua-Worldwin, lt aqua-Prismatics
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Top Boss
Extras: Dew Drops, Prisma Pencils, ribbon (from Debbie)
I hope everyone has a great day today!

Hugs,

Just a Breeze

Hi there! I hope this finds you having a great Thursday afternoon! I started this card with the Fall to Layout #55 from the Clean and Simple blog.
I made this card for my pal Karen who recently moved here to California from Washington. I am thrilled she is only a few hours away. I am hoping her move was a breeze!
I stamped Karen's Electric Fan on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cs and colored it with my Copics (R14, R29 and R35). I added a little Frost Blue (B00) for the wind and C1 (Gray) for the metal part around the fan blades and below for some shadow.
What is hard to see in the picture is the sparkle! I went around the fan and blades with my Stardust pen and then covered the fan blades and fan stand with Glossy Accents. I just love it!
Here are the deets:
Stamps: Electric Fan #2088 Lockhart Stamp Company
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest SW, Penny Lane/My Mind's Eye, Worldwin
Accessories: Copics, Button, Ribbon
Thanks for looking,

Yum O! Strawberry Limeade!

Here is a fun card that I created for a few of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges over on SCS a couple of weeks ago. I think this was one of my favorite cards that I did for the challenges. I started with a sketch and the inspiration of bright summery colors. There was also a challenge to use a food item. I had recently purchased this fun print K & Co. paper and knew it would be perfect. I stamped the fun littleAW/Whipper Snapper cooler with Adirondack Pitch Black ink and colored it with my Copics. I cut it out with my petite oval nesties and layered it all up. I added some Glossy Accents to the ice cubes and then stamped the little citrus wedge and colored it up like a lime. I cut a little slit in the top of the glass and slid the lime in. It is hard to see, but after I colored the straw, I went over it with a yellow Spica glitter pen.
The inside is pretty self explanatory, I stamped the words and used my Copic marker to swipe a little color accross the sentiment.
Well, I must run and pick up the house a bit. I will be heading to the store in a bit to put out some new Fall stamps and lots of new paper. I'll take my camera and share a peek later.

What a fun weekend!

Last weekend I had the honor of being invited to Sonora, CA to teach a sweet group of ladies two classes. The first class was Copic 101 where I taught them about the markers, which inks and cardstocks to use and then how to color and achieve great shading with Copics. Everyone was so great and the best part was, they brought food! There were chips/dips, roll ups, little deviled egg, ham and olive sammys and a low fat bundt cake that was to die for. They even shared their recipes with me! Oh, I am happy!!!!

The second class was a variation of the Butterfly class that I taught locally a couple of months ago. There were 3 coordinating cards with lots of little punched out butterflies in pretty colors. I forgot to take my camera in with me so I didn't get any pictures, but believe me the ladies were the best! Oh, I hope they let me come back and "teach" them again sometime.

I was hosted by a very sweet woman named Heather that I had met several years ago online and we found that we lived just a few hours away from each other. Heather came to the shop that I work in awhile back and we were able to meet in person at that time. She graciously opened her home to me and cooked for me too! It doesn't get any better than that!

Until we meet again,

Sweet Sunday Sketch #29

I loved Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch yesterday and couldn't wait to get into the studio and play. I know it's a bit hot outside and I should have used a summery image, but I have had this little Anna Wight kitty from the Cozy Critters set out on my desk waiting to be used. So I went with it and just love the way it turned out. I used several colors of Copics to color the little guy to match Peachy, one of the cats at The Cat's Meow. Peachy and I are buddies, especially when I have turkey or chicken for lunch!

Oh, I digress, back to the card. I paper pieced Mr. Kitty's scarf and hat. Anna must have cackled like a hen, when she drew the little scarf. I am sure she knew that someone would want to paper piece it and make themselves a crazy loon in the cutting out process. Anna wins!

The cute little santa hat is from the same set and was much easier to paper piece. Whew! For the white parts of the hat, I added a little Carrera Marble glitter from Martha. Very cool in person! The button and sentiment are in true AW style also.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Cozy Critters from Whipper Snapper
Paper: Basic Grey Wassail 6 x 6, Green from stash, Cream from stash
Ink: Pitch Black Adirondack
Extras: Buttons, Twine, MS Glitter, Copics

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!
First, I would like to say congratulations to Julee and her team for two great years of wonderful Verveness! As my card says, Your're the Best! I knew I wanted to create my card using Verve's signature colors of chocolate and aqua and this Abbey Road cardstock from Bo Bunny was perfect. It looks like Julee could have designed it. My card used a base of Gina K's PL Chocolate base weight cs and the aqua layer is from my stash. I then layered the Abbey Road cardstock on top. I followed with another layer of aqua, chocolate and aqua. For the top layer of aqua I inked one of the designs from the Kindred Spirits set with Versamark Dazzle Champagne ink and created a very subtle background. The frame was inked with Espresso Adirondack and stamped onto a scrap of aqua. I added the sentiment with Espresso ink as well. I stamped the frame a second time and cut it out and layered over the first image. I then added the chocolate satin ribbon/bow and some Glossy Accents to the top layer of the frame and then finished it off with two sizes of chocolate pearls from Kaisercraft.
Thanks for stopping by! Now it’s time to hop on over to Lori’s blog, for a little more Verve-y goodness.

hugs,
