Happy Anniversary

Today, I want to say Happy Anniversary to David's parents, Jim and Caroline (AKA Crusty Jim and Pocket Change). They have been married for 49 years and still going strong. 49 years, wow that is a long time!!! They are both retired and very active in SASS (Single Action Shooters Society) . I wouldn't want to meet up with either one of them at a gunfight!
I wish them the happiest day and many more happy years together!

Here are the card details: Stamps: Elegant Post (Gina K. Designs)
Paper: PL White (GKD), Frosted Pink (Prismatics), Print Papers (Making Memories)
Inks: Cranberry Adirondack, Petunia Pink Versamagic
Extras: Ribbon

CHA Inky Antics

Good morning! Another quick post from me today. These adorable boards are from Inky Antics. Inky Antics has been around for along time, their images are sweet and adorable. The samples on the top (Merry Mousies) board were created by my internet BFF Debbie Fisher. I am so happy for Debbie that she has the opportunity to create such adorable works of art for Inky Antics. Tomorrow, I will be sharing with you a new company that Robin and I both fell in love with.

CHA Kaisercraft

Hi there! Whew, I am sure glad to be home from CHA. The trip was fun, but always lots of work too! Over the next few days I will show you some pics that I took at the show. Today I am sharing a few from the Kaisercraft booth. Robin and I were lucky enough to have two spots in their make and take. We made cute little notebooks like the ones above. I really liked the collections pictured above, they were some of my favorites. I didn't get a pic of the collection that the little bird journal was made from. I think my head was spinning from all of the excitement at being at CHA.

Tomorrow, I will share an extra special picture that I took of a display board created by a dear friend of mine for Inky Antics.

CHA Update Saturday 1/23/10

Hi there! We (my pal Robin and I) arrived here in Anaheim last night and promptly went to Outback and had some Coconut Shrimp..........they were yummy just in case you were wondering.

Today, I took two classes. The first was Flower Soft and the second was Hero Arts. Both classes were great, but I really loved the Hero Arts class (I always do) . We created 3 cards in the Flower Soft class and 4 card and a bracelet in the Hero class. I still need to put the finishing touches on my projects and take some pictures and then I will upload for you all to see.

Tonight we went to the SEI party. They always have a yummy ice cream/cookie/fruit bar for us to enjoy......I had vanilla ice cream with chopped up Oreos and I loved every bite!

We received goodies from Flower Soft, Hero and SEI. Pictures of all to follow.

I will update again tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Flowers

Hi there! I hope your day is going well. I have been getting ready to leave for CHA. Robin and I will be driving to Anaheim on Friday. I hope the weather will play nice. :) I don't like driving in rain and I really don't want to drive over the Grapevine aka the Ridge Route (a portion of I-5 for those who are not familiar) if it is covered in snow or having high winds. I can't wait to go though as there are always so many yummy new papers/stamps/ribbon/embellishments to look at. My plan is to take lots of pictures and update here on the blog each day.

The card I am sharing with you today was alot of fun to create. I apologize for the photo, there hasn't been any sun around here in days. I used Gina K's layout that you can see here in her video. The stamps used are from Theresa Momber's Purrr-fectly Delightful set that I recently won from GKD. The frame around the flowers is from the new Organize It StampTV kit. The solid cardstocks are Smokey Slate and Sweet Corn from GKD and the print is called Something Old and it is from the Cosmo Cricket Everafter collection. The flowers were colored with Copic markers (Y21, Y82, E53, E55) and a little bit of yellow and brown Spica Glitter pens. The card was finished off with some ribbon and pearls.

Just a Note Times Two

Hi there! Today I have a couple of
fun sets of notecards that I recently made. The set on the right was my class project last Saturday. The box base is Prismatic Frosted Yellow cardstock. I used Prismatic Frosted Teal and a bit of Basic Grey print paper for the accents. All of the stamps used (except for "hello") are from the brand new Hero Arts release. The "hello" stamp is from Amuse. The notecards are a base of Prismatic Frosted Teal with a layer of Neenah CC Solar White. This set was embellished with butterflies and/or rhinestones and ribbon. You can find all of these goodies here.
The set shown on the left was created for the Anything But a Card challenge on StampTV a couple of weeks ago. All stamps used were from the Bold Flowers set. The "Just a Note" was computer generated using Whackadoo Font. The label was cute out using my nestabilities labels set. The box base is Prismatic Island Mist Light. I used PL Green Apple and some October Afternoon Farm Fresh for the accents. This set is embellished with ribbon, brads and some Diamond Stickles. Each week a name is drawn from all of that weeks participants and the winner gets to pick a free stamp set. Guess what, I was picked! I chose the new Purrr-fectly Delightful set as my prize. I can't wait to stamp with it.

You can find a tutorial for the box here or a pdf file here.

Have a happy day!

CSS Inspiration Blog Hop

Each artist was asked to design their project by drawing inspiration from these photos of the AMAZING Christmas Cookie Bouquet the CSS Team sent to Gina's DT Coordinator Jessica Fick:

For my card, I chose the blue/white color from the snowflake mitten cookie as my inspiration. I stamped both the butterfly and sentiment in Paris Dusk Memento ink on Gina K Designs Pure Luxury White cardstock and used a bit of B21 Copic marker for the inner portion of the wings on the butterfly. The sentiment is from the Tree Silhouettes set and the butterfly is from Take Flight. The light blue background and the top white circle are embossed with the Stylized Flowers Cuttlebug EF.

It's a Twinchie!

Hi there! I hope everyone had a happy Wednesday. Mine was pretty uneventful! I did get a card made though, so I will consider today a victory. This card will be for someone who is having a birthday later this month. I know she likes pink, so I hope she will like it.

The layout is from the first sketch challenge at The Cat's Meow Stamps Forum. I used one of the new Twinchie squares from Inchie Arts to create the background panel for my stamped image. This floral image (Magenta) is just the center portion of the stamp. I colored it with Copic markers and then punched 7/8" squares to create the main image panel. I covered the entire panel with Versamark Dazzle (Champagne) and then embossed with a coat of Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. It's hard to see, but the completed panel looks like tile.

The sentiment is from the Whipper Snapper/Anna Wight Blooming Expressions set. I stamped it on a white panel and then layered it to one of the Fancy Tags from Spellbinders. The card was finished off with some Kaisercraft pearls.

hugs,

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all! It was three years ago today that I started this little blog. I wasn't sure why but I thought what the heck. Because of this blog, I have met some of the nicest stamping folks there are. Many of you stop by and leave a comment from time to time to cheer me on and some of you just check in and never say a word. I love each and everyone of you! A few of my family members pop in every now and then too, I love you guys for that!!! Although I have been stamping for 100 years or so, I feel like 2009 was such a year of growth for me.

Some of my stamping highlights in 2009 were: working at the best stamp store around, becoming Copic certified, teaching more and traveling to teach (have passport, will travel as DH would say), being a Center Stage Designer for Gina K. Designs (Thanks Gina! I am ready to go again at a moments notice.) I know 2010 can only get better.

The card I am sharing today is one I made quite some time ago for a Mojo Monday Sketch (#44, I think) and I thought it was the perfect card for today. The colors are bright and cheery (we need that in these troubled times) and the sentiment says it all.

I wish you all a happy, healthy, prosperous 2010.

hugs,
