CSS Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to a color combination challenge blog hop hosted by members of the Gina K. Center Stage Alumni team. The colors we were asked to use are:  Fresh Asparagus, Sweet Corn and Pumpkin Spice.

Today we are featuring hand drawn sets designed by Melanie Muenchinger and Theresa Momber. As you hop along make sure to leave a comment because on Tuesday morning (September 25), we will randomly choose two comments from all the blogs and two lucky individuals will receive a Gina K. Designs Stamps set each (the winners will receive either a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger or Theresa Momber).

You should have arrived at my blog from Linda's awesome blog, if not you can go back to StampTV and start from the beginning.

For my first card, I used Melanie's Stately Flowers #1 set.  Being a California girl I fell in love with the beautiful poppy that Melanie included in this set. I cut three pieces of GKD PL White cardstock in stair stepping sizes and then stacked them and stamped the poppy image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink in a random pattern and then added a layer of Pumpkin Spice cardstock to each layer  Ribbon from the GKD store was wrapped around the print panels and then everything was layered to a GKD PL Black Onyx card.  I added a little bit of yellow marker and some Diamond Stickles to the flowers for a little bit of pop!
The sentiment is from Melanie's Wild at Heart set.

My next card uses Theresa's Country Roads set.  This week the Free For All Friday Challenge on StampTV was to Case the DT and it happens to be Theresa, so I took the opportunity to case THIS card by Theresa.  I changed the colors a bit and added the mailboxes in place of the tree.  I figure whoever owns that middle mailbox must be a bit of a rebel and so I colored it up red just for kicks!  I started this card with a base of GKD PL Fresh Asparagus cardstock and then added a print panel from the Farmhouse Sugar Hill collection. Next up is a Sweet Corn layer that I ran through the Cuttlebug with the Seeing Spots folder and layered it onto a piece of Pumpkin Spice cardstock.  Next up is the image panel that was layered to a Fresh Asparagus panel and tied with some twine.

Don't forget to comment on each of the blogs along the way.  Be sure to stop my Melanie and Theresa's blogs too!

Next up on the hop is Melissa's amazing blog.

Wowee! These are so very beautiful! Just stunning the way you used Mel's set in the first card! Love the truck card, too. I love your version (better than mine). So funny I almost did the mail boxes instead of the trees. Was totally waffling on that. I never would have thought to do the rebel mailbox in red. What a fun idea! Thank you for doing this blog hop for us!

Wowzer, that triple stamped card is eye popping with minimal coloring and lots of sparkle! And yes, lovin' that rebel mailbox you colored red to match the truck :)

Nana Griffin said...

gorgeous poppy card and the plaid overlay goes so well on the other card.

Diana Evensen said...

The stately flowers card is beautiful. Interesting to only color the centers.
The truck is cute, but the size compared to the mailboxes was too small. Maybe the mailboxes should have been on the bottom (closer to the viewer) with the truck toward the top for a more balanced perspective.

Wow. Love the layering technique on the poppy card. Your instructions sounds simple but looks difficult. Love all the texture you used in the second card. Coloring is great.

Very inspirational.
