One card, two tecniques

Hello, here we are at the end of the week again.  Wierd weather here, cool and then warm again.  Why can't I just have springlike weather year round?

Today I am going to show you the same card, twice!  

For the first card, I used the Direct To Rubber method to color my stamp.  When I do this technique I like to use a stamp that has a bit of a bolder image as you will have a better surface to color on that way.  I started by picking out five Tombow Dual Brush pens (see colors below) and coloring/stamping one at a time.  I started with the lightest color (image in the middle) and added Dual Brush Pen #991 (LIght Ochre) to the stamp and then huffed on the stamp to moisten the ink a a bit and then stamped it onto the center of my Neenah Natural cardstock.  I continued this process with each of the colors.  I did the same process for the sentiment.  I used Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive to hold each of the layers together with the exception of the image panel which I popped up using Tombow Foam Tabs.  

On this card, I did the same Direct to Rubber technique except I added a twist.  After the stamp was colored in, I spritzed it with water (just enough to moisten the ink) and then applied the image to some Canson 140# Cold Press watercolor paper.  When I do this, I leave the stamp face down on the paper for a count of twelve.  This allows the ink to soak into the paper just a bit before you pick the stamp up.  I did the same with the sentiment.  For a little extra something, something I added some Ranger Pearl Mica to my Mini Mister to give my water a bit of a shimmer.  If you click on the photo, you might be able to see how the images have a bit of shimmer on them.
