Hi there and happy Sunday to you all! Hubby and I took a drive into Yosemite National Park today and had a bite to eat at the Ahwahnee Hotel. He told me to dress warm that we were heading north. We went into the park at the south entrance which is about 12 miles from home and came out on the Mariposa side. It made for a nice day trip.
When I saw the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge earlier this week, I knew I wanted to play along. The theme this week is Typography and this idea popped into my head and I finally had a few minutes to put my idea to paper, I really like how it turned out. I hope you will too!
I cut out the tree image with my Silhouette Cameo on a 4" x 5 1/4" panel and popped out the positive portion and set it aside to use at a later date. I then embossed the negative piece with a Sizzix Snowflake folder. I traced the inside of the tree image onto a white card base as this was my guideline for stamping several of the sentiments from the Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler set. I stamped them in Memento Northern Pink ink. I added some Tombow Foam Tabs to the back of the embossed panel and layered that right over the top being careful to line up the print perfectly inside the tree. I cut the tree stump from the positive image and wrapped some brown twine around it and added it back into place. For the star, I just applied some Tombow Mono Multi and sprinkled some Art Institute Tang glitter on top. I finished the card off with some Marachino Twinery twine.
