Repeat Impressions POTW-Triple Time Stamping

Hello and happy Monday!  This week it is my turn to share a Project of the Week with you on The House That Stamps Built blog.

I have chosen to show you Triple Time Stamping

Triple Time Stamping is where you layer 3 pieces cardstock (usually a neutral) and you stamp an image randomly over the stacked pieces to create a background pattern. Next you take each of the neutral layers and add a coordinating solid behind them and then stack the layered layers once again matching up your stamped images.

Come on along,  and I will show you how I do it.

First, you will need to gather your supplies:

I am going to be using the Repeat Impressions Poinsettia #2012-H (for the cream/red card) and Snowflakes #8805-K (for the white/blue card).

Next, you will want to layer your neutral pieces in whichever manner they are going to be on your final layout.  For the red/cream card, I decided to just stack them one on top of the other.  I like to put a tiny amount of adhesive on the back so the pieces don't slide around when I am stamping.

We're getting there....

In this picture, (sorry about the blur) I have taken the stamped layers and added a coordinating solid behind each one and added them to my base card matching up the stamped images.  You can see that for the snowflake card, I put my layers a little caddy wompus, but the flakes all match up!

Here is the completed poinsettia card.  I colored the flowers with several shades of red markers and added some gold dew drops in the centers.  I finished off this card with a wide ribbon tied in a simple knot.

To finish off the snowflake card, I stamped the Repeat Impressions Snowmen Fall #4601-H
in blue ink and matted it with the darkest blue cardstock.  I punched a couple of large snowflakes and layered them a little offset from each other.  I covered the large white snowflake with some Stardust Stickles and Glossy Accents.

I hope you will give this technique a try.  If so, be sure to come back here and leave us a comment with your link as we would love to see it.
