Hi there! This week it is my turn to share a Project of the Week with you.
One of my favorite things to do is Monochromatic cards.
Here is a simple definition of Monochromatic:
Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue.
Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints. Tints are achieved by adding white and shades and tones are achieved by adding a darker color, gray or black.
First, you need to pick your color scheme and go through your stash and gather some supplies:
Now, for my first card:
I stamped the Repeat Impressions Thanks A Bunch #1307E and the Repeat Impressions Posies 632-H in black ink and colored with markers. For the sentiment, I masked off the "A Bunch" and stamped the "Thanks" and then I repeated the process in reverse to get the sentiment stacked on the small white panel. I stamped the floral posies randomly on the squares and then matted them with the darker purple cardstock. I did add a tiny bit of green ink, but I think it really needed it.
Next, I wanted to create a cute Valentine card and this is what I came up with using my "pink" stash.
I stamped the sweet, sweet Hogs and Kisses #2812-G in black ink and colored them with some pink markers. I thought I would "ham" it up a bit and add some googly eyes and red glitter lips :)
I hope you will give Monochromatic card making a try. It really is fun and it is a great way to use up some scraps from your stash.
Wishing you a wonderful, creative week.
