RI Project of the Week: Christmas Gift Bags

Hi there!  It's Melissa and this week I am going to share some quick and easy Christmas gift bags with you.

First up, you will want to gather your supplies:

I have pulled lots of Winter/Christmas paper scraps, some assorted ribbon, jingle bells, Action Wobblers, some of my favorite Repeat Impressions holiday stamps and a couple of Tootsie Rolls...a girl always needs a little sugar to help her when she is crafting :)

Stamp and color your images (do several at once):

Once your images are stamped, colored and cut out, set aside and work on some decorative panels for your bags, here is a close up of one of the bags:

I used the Repeat Impressions Holly Santa #302-K and the Merry Christmas #1141-F to create my gift bags.  I stamped Santa in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment was stamped in the same ink and then I inked up the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.  I cut the decorative panels with dies and also edged them with the Brushed Corduroy ink.  Mr. Santa is on an Action Wobbler as he likes to dance :)

Sticky U with Tombow

Hi there!   Today, I am sharing my Tombow Sticky U DIY project using Tombow's Xtreme Adhesive to get the job done!

Tombow is introducing Sticky University AKA StickyU! This is "The Stickiest School Around!" The primary focus is to teach craft aficionados how to create works of art that stick by using Tombow’s latest adhesive product, Xtreme. This adhesive is 5 X’s Stronger than our standard tape runner. It works on a variety of hard to glue surfaces such as cardstock, cork, wood, fabric, glass, plastic and rubber. We will also be using #StickyU for all the fun projects!

I created a great paper box that is sturdy enough to hold a special memento or some of your favorite photos.  By using the Tombow Xtreme adhesive, I am sure that this box will stand the test of time.

Each of the print panels was adhered to the box using Xtreme and then I used just a wee bit of Xtreme for the back of each piece of greenery and even the flowers!

I die cut the butterflies from the Memory Box Pippi die and then glittered the centers using Tombow Mono Aqua and some glass glitter.   

Each of the panels and scallop circles are adhered to this box using Xtreme Adhesive.

Enjoy This Day

 Hello and welcome to the weekend!  I am so happy to say that we have finally gotten some rain here in Central CA and is much needed.  Although most of the country has been freezing cold and in the snow, we have been unusually warm and dry here.  

Today, I am sharing a card and tealight box that I created using a Watercolor Technique with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. 

I started with a bold image stamp from Impression Obsession called Solid Rose Cluster and inked it up using the following colors of Tombow Dual Brush Pens #452, 373, 133, 126.  I started with the lightest color on the flowers and then went in with a bit of the darker color, next I did the same thing for the leaves using the green markers.  I spritzed the stamp lightly and stamped it onto some white cardstock.  I always leave the stamp down for about a count of ten to allow the ink to absorb into the cardstock a bit.  I used Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock.

I used a Tombow Glue Pen to scribble random circle patterns onto each of the roses and sprinkled with Microfine Silk Warm Diamond Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  

Now for the whammy!  I created this adorable little box following a tutorial from Pootles Papercrafts on You Tube.  You can check it out here.  I love making boxes and never, ever want them to come apart (especially when used as gifts) and I am thrilled beyond words to say that the new Tombow Xtreme Glue Tape worked perfectly to hold this little box nice and secure!

Hip, hip, hooray!  Can you tell I am excited?  I can't wait for you to try this amazing new adhesive from Tombow. It really is the bomb diggity!

Over the Top Holiday Hop

Hi there, this week the Tombow team is hopping with Fancy Pants. 

I have created some great little gift boxes using papers from the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas collection.  I love all of the great colors in this collection, there was so much to work with :)

I used Tombow Mono Multi for holding each of the box edges closed and to create the paper bows.  

I used Tombow Power Tabs to hold the ribbon and poinsettia in place on the floral box.

I used a Tombow Fastener Tab to hold the envelope flap closed on the music print box and Tombow Foam Tabs under the adorable little owl on the tag.

Birthday Bucket of Flowers

Hi y'all!  I had a little break in blogging and now I am back to share a fun bucket of flowers with you.

I know that Sunday is Mother's Day, and this would make a great everlasting Mother's Day bouquet for sure, but I decided to create a birthday card as this is a class project I am teaching for the end of the month.  

I started with a cut file from SVG Cuts and used that for the bucket and the roses. The blue flowers are a Silhouette cut file.  I used Tombow Mono Multi to put the bucket together.  A tip when using Mono Multi on a project like this is to use the Mono Multi sparingly.  If you glop on too much, the paper will become saturated and it will take way to long to dry.  To attach the print panels to the bucket I used Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive. 

For each of the flowers, I sponged the petals and then glued them together with Tombow Mono Multi, stacking the petals catty wompus of each other so that the pieces form a flower. I did this for both types of flowers.  To add a finishing touch to each of the blue flowers, I adhered a button to the center using a 1/4 of a Tombow Power Tab.  The Power Tabs are clear and very easy to cut with your regular scissors.

To create the card I used some Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive to adhere the print papers to the card.  The flower was created as I stated above.  The leaves were embossed and then folded in the center to add some dimension.  I attached the leaves with Tombow Foam Tabs.

Here is a picture of the completed project.  I really think this would make a great gift for someone special.

Hey there!  It is ABC (anything but a card) week again at Tombow and this week we are having a fun hop with PRIZES!

I created this adorable Watering Can from a Silhouette cut file by Snapdragon Snippets.  I used Tombow Mono Multi to adhere all of the print panels to the can and to create the can itself.  The pretty flowers are also a Silhouette cut file from Snapdragon Snippets. You can find it here.  The flower comes with two sets of petals, if you use one your flower will look like a tulip.  I put both together and I think my flowers look a bit more like a rose. :)

I added the Happy Spring cut out (also from the Silhouette store) with a bit more Tombow Mono Multi.  The panels for the sentiment are adhered together with Tombow Stamp Runner and then the whole panel is popped up with Tombow Foam Tabs.

For a few finishing touches, I added some colored flat droplets to the spout using some Tombow Mono Multi, a tiny pink rose to the front with a 1/4 of a Tombow Power Tab to hold it in place and an assortment of May Arts ribbons to the handle.

Snowflake Tree

Hello!  This is ABC week for the Tombow team and my project this week is a cute little tree made from wine bottle corks.  

The tree was very easy to create with just a few supplies.

You will need to gather 13 corks (I ask people to save them for me) and several strips of coordinating print papers.  I cut the strips into 1 1/4" x 3 1/4" and wrapped each strip around a cork and used Tombow Mono Multi to adhere the ends.  You will need to do this for 11 of the 13 corks.  I used a glue gun to attach corks together to form the shape of a tree.  For the trunk of the tree, I put a line of Tombow Mono Multi onto the back of one of the corks and wrapped twine around and held it in the back for a minute until the adhesive set.  Attach trunk to tree with glue gun.  Next, I dripped some of the Tombow Mono Multi down the front side of the tree and sprinkled some Art Institute Ultrafine Crystal glitter to create some snow.  After the glitter was dry, I added some snowflake punchies to the tree with Tombow Power Tabs.  I cut the Power Tabs into smaller pieces so that you could not see them behind the snowflakes.  To finish the tree off, I used a larger snowflake and button at the top of the tree.

Notecard Box

Hi there!  I hope this finds you looking forward to the weekend.  We have finally gotten into some cooler weather and that is a good thing.  

Today I am sharing a notecard box and one of four notecards/envelopes that fit nicely inside.  I am giving these to someone special.  I know she will love them.

I cut this envelope box diecut with my Silhouette Cameo out of some American Crafts textured cardstock and used Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive on the glue tabs and the bottom envelope flap to hold the box closed.  Tombow Mono Multi is great when you need to glue paper to paper and you need it to take hold quickly.  To add all of the paper layers I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots.  

Here is the closure side of the box.  I used a Tombow Fastener Tab on the flap to allow the box to be opened and closed.  These tabs are self adhesive which makes them very easy to place just where you need them.

Poppy Tumbler

Hi there, this is ABC (anything but a card) week on the Tombow Blog so I decided to share this tumbler that I made with you.

When you get the tumbler, it comes with a template that you use to design your own insert.  

I traced the template onto the back of some Memory Box Gingham Check cardstock and cut it out.  Now this is where the fun begins.  I die cut several of the Memory Box Poppies from some orange dotted cardstock and then shaded each flower with the Tombow Dual Brush pen in Light Orange (#025).  The flowers were attached using Tombow Mono Aqua.  On the stems of the flowers, I just dabbed tiny dots of the Mono Aqua and it worked like a charm.  

I added some die cut clouds that were adhered with a little more Tombow Mono Aqua and the grass die cuts were attached using Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive.  

This is a quick and easy project and would be great fun to do with kids.  Just think how much fun they would have making the tumbler in their favorite colors/themes.

back to school

Hi there, this is ABC (anything but a card) week on the Tombow blog and these are the challenges that I struggle with the most.  School has started back up here in my neck of the woods so I decided to create something for a friend of mine who teaches 5th grade.

This project was fairly quick and easy too!

I started with a 6" tall tin that I had in my stash and slathered on some Tombow Mono Multi adhesive and let it sit for about 10 minutes until the glue turned clear and reached its repositionable state and then I added some dollar store colored pencils around it to create  a vase. 

I tied some wide May Arts Chevron ribbon around the vase and added a tag that was cut with my Silhouette using the Petite Scallops cut file.  I used Tombow Mono Dots Runner to adhere each of the tag layers together.  I stamped the apple from the Gina K. Designs Stippled Nature set using Red Pepper and Cranberry Adirondack inks. The leaf was stamped in Lettuce and Meadow Adirondack inks.  Both of these were stamped on their corresponding GKD Silhouette cuts and added to the tag with some Tombow Foam Tabs to give them a little height.  

 Did you know that Tombow Mono Multi could be used as a repositionable adhesive?  This is great for projects where you need a temporary hold.

Love Notes

Hi!  This week the team has been sharing their "Love Notes" with you.

I created a little box with three small cards that would be great for popping into your sweetheart's pocket or lunch bag.  

I used this pattern to create this sweet little 3 x 3 notecard box.  I used Tombow's Mono Adhesive Dots, Roller on the tabs of the box to create a strong hold and solid box.  Mono Adhesive Dots, Roller was also used to apply some Basic Grey Bittersweet paper to the box top.  For each of the notes I used a variety of hearts that were cut from Lifestyle Crafts Hearts dies.  I embossed the hearts with a variety of folders with a Cuttlebug. I used some Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive to adhere each of the hearts to one another and the box top/card fronts.  The ribbon was attached with a Tombow Power Tab.  I used Tombow's Foam Tabs (the small ones) to attach each of the flowers and the sentiment flags  to the top of the box or notecards.  

It is a bit difficult to see, but one of my favorite things to do to paper flowers is to apply Tombow Mono Aqua around the petals and then sprinkle with Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Thank You Favor Boxes

 Hello there!  All week on the Tombow blog my fellow DT members have been sharing our creations using the Pantone's 2008 color called Blue Iris.   I decided to make some little Thank You boxes (filled with something sweet, of course) to have on hand.

 Tombow's Dual Brush Pen #555 (Ultramarine) is the perfect match, so that was my starting point.   I used the Lifestyle Crafts Rectangle Box Die to create this adorable little 2 x 3 x 1 favor box.  I then cut out several white flowers using the MFT Mini Rolled Roses Die and the Memory Box Small Pinwheel Posie Die.  Before I rolled the flowers, I used the Tombow Dual Brush Pen #555 to tip the topside of each of the flowers.  I then rolled them and secured each one on the bottom using Tombow Mono Multi adhesive.  Just a little drop on the bottom of each flower held them nicely.  I then inked up a Memory Box Thank You stamp with the same Dual Brush Marker (for a perfect color match) onto some white cardstock and cut it out with a circle die and adhered it to a blue scallop circle using Tombow's Mono Adhesive Permanent Dots Roller and adhered that to the top of the box with Tombow's Foam Tabs.  I used a little more of the Mono Multi to adhere the flowers to the thank you panel and then I used some of the Tombow Mono Aqua around the top of each flower and sprinkled them with Elizabeth Craft Designs Warm Highlight Glitter.  A little ribbon and some bling and these boxes are ready to go. 

Vintage Gift Card Holder

This week on the Tombow blog we were giving the task of creating something with the theme of "Gifts that keep on Giving"  It took me a bit to think about what I wanted to create, but then it hit me.  I give gift cards to several people in my family and those are definitely gifts that keep on giving so I decided to create a little gift card holder with a vintage feel to it.  

 I used papers from the Melissa Frances Deck the Halls 6 x 6 paper pad and some ivory cardstock to create this quick and easy gift card holder.  I started with a 4" x 6 1/2" piece of ivory cardstock.  With the long side at the top score at 2 3/4" and 5"  Fold on score lines.  Add Tombow MonoAdhesive Dots to the left and right sides on the 1 1/2" flap and fold up to create the pocket for your gift card.  I used more MonoAdhesive Dots to attach the print papers to the outside/inside flaps of the holder.  I stamped the sentiment from Northwoods onto a small oval with Cranberry Adirondack ink and then punched out some branches from a MS punch and the leaves from the Spellbinders Foliage die set.  I used a Tombow Foam Tab on the back of the oval to hold the branches in place and to create height for my sentiment.  

This would be a quick and easy project that could be decorated for any holiday or celebration.  The possibilities are endless!
