CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi there!  Tonight I am sharing a card that I created for for a blog hop being hosted by members of StampTV Center Stage Alumni. A group of us have decided to get together a couple of times a month and host a themed hop in order to share our love for Gina K. stamps.  For this hop we were given this photo as inspiration.  If you've arrived from my pal Lori McAree's blog then you're at the right place! To start at the beginning, please go to StampTV and hop from there.

As soon as I saw this picture I knew I would be using Melanie's adorable Candles on Your Cake set.  I was also inspired by the wonderful bright colors.in the photo and knew that the striped paper from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh pad would be perfect to create little presents with. I punched 1" squares from the paper and adhered them to some white Inchie squares. I tied 3 of them up like little gifts with some teeny tiny ribbon from my stash.  I stamped the bottom of the cupcake with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then colored it with Copic markers (R29, R11).  The cupcake top was stamped with Memento Canteloupe ink and then I piled on some light yellow Liquid Pearls and a boatload of Limone' Art Institute glitter.  I attached the cupcake pieces to the forth Inchie square and adhered them all to a piece of Turquoise Sea  GKD PL cardstock and then layered to a white card that was embossed with dots.  The inside of the card was decorated using some of the scraps from the front.
Whew, now I will send you on your way to Sherri Seffens's blog for some more amazing eye candy!

Inchie Nest

Whew, I sure have had a busy week. Last Tuesday I had to have a cataract removed from my right eye. The procedure was easy peasy and I am amazed at how much better I can see with that little "cloud" gone. Today I went for my final "post-op" visit and have ordered my new glasses, I can't wait for them to get here and have both eyes working together again. Right now, the left is near sighted and the right is far sighted. I have to tell people that I am not winking at them........really, really, I'm not.
The card I am sharing with you today was created for Lisa's very first Inchie Sketch challenge on the Inchie INKlings blog. I love me some inchies and knew I wanted to play along. I used a pretty light blue shimmer cardstock for my base card and then added some pretty papers from Memory Box. I used a white inchie square and colored the edges with Copic E29, I stamped the Lockhart IB Nest with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic E35, E37 and E29. The eggs were colored with Copic B00 and then a little Glossy Accents and glitter were added. I punched the nest panel with a 7/8" square punch and added to the inchie square. The card was finished off with a MS Deep Edger punch and some Amuse ribbon. Need some Inchies? Need the nest? You can find them here.

ETA:  Woo Hoo!  I just read this Inchie Inklings post and found out that my card was this weeks winner!  If you want a chance to win, head over there now for this weeks sketch.

It's a Twinchie!

Hi there! I hope everyone had a happy Wednesday. Mine was pretty uneventful! I did get a card made though, so I will consider today a victory. This card will be for someone who is having a birthday later this month. I know she likes pink, so I hope she will like it.

The layout is from the first sketch challenge at The Cat's Meow Stamps Forum. I used one of the new Twinchie squares from Inchie Arts to create the background panel for my stamped image. This floral image (Magenta) is just the center portion of the stamp. I colored it with Copic markers and then punched 7/8" squares to create the main image panel. I covered the entire panel with Versamark Dazzle (Champagne) and then embossed with a coat of Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. It's hard to see, but the completed panel looks like tile.

The sentiment is from the Whipper Snapper/Anna Wight Blooming Expressions set. I stamped it on a white panel and then layered it to one of the Fancy Tags from Spellbinders. The card was finished off with some Kaisercraft pearls.

Quick Butterfly Cards

Here are the cards that the gals made in my class today. For each card we used a couple of butterfly punches from EK Success. The designs are simple, but we used some sort of fun tool on each one. For the Raspberry/Vine card I had them stamp the vine with Lettuce Adirondack ink and then color the leaves with Copic markers (YG03 and YG05). The small butterflies were punched out of Dark Racy Raspberry cs from Worldwin and the large ones were punched from SEI's Brigeport collection. The large butterfly in the middle is the reverse side of the paper from the other two. For the berries we used some little metal stickers from ??? (I will look on Monday and let you know) These happen to be berry colored but they come in gold, silver and probably other colors too! A little bit of stickles was used on the berry colored butterflies for added bling. For the next card, I cut Hillary Bazzill cardstock into 4Bar sized cards (3 1/2 x 5) and we ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Leafy Branch embossing folder. We had to run it through once and then scooch the folder over a bit to get the full width of the card. The butterfly was mounted onto an inchie square that had been stamed with a background image in Lettuce ink. It was then placed on the berry panel and attached to the card. A little clear gem was added for the head of the butterfly. There is a white panel with the small butterfly punched out of the corner on the inside of the card. For the last card we scored 1/8" around the white panel (it is hard to see in the pic) and then layered to the Hillary panel and then to the white card. The butterflies are from the SEI Brigeport collection also. "Amazing Friend" (Hero Arts) was stamped in Cranberry Adirondack ink. It was a fun class and the ladies were all great! I just love them all! hugs,

I am so excited!

I won something! Whoo Hooo! I was just reading the Inchie Inklings blog and found out that I won the Rustic Inchie Challenge. You can read all about it here. The next challenge is from Nov 15th to Dec 15th and the theme is Holiday Scene Inchie. You should really consider submitting an inchie as there aren't too many people participating right now (made it easier for me to win) and your odds are good to win. How about a little friendly competition? If you are interested, you can get all of the deets here.

I have been creating and have a few pics to edit and upload, stay tuned!

Inching to Stamp

Inchie Sminchies!!!
So, it's been awhile since I last posted. I have been hecka busy around here. I have been stamping, just not taking the time to post. I think its the picture taking/editing that slows me down the most! Below are pictures of some inchies that I created for the Rustic Inchie challenge/contest over at Inchie Inklings. The basic jist of the challenge was to use a Lockhart image and create something that looked rustic/fallish.....is fallish a word? You can submit up to 3 inchies and you have a chance at winning some great goodies. I ended up submitting two from this grouping. All of the cards are 2 1/2" square and the base cards are Bazzill cardstock. The stamp I used is the Lockhart Wheelbarrow of Pumpkins. I just cropped a bit from the corner. All of the inchies were colored with my Prismacolor pencils and Copic Marker for the light blue background.
For this inchie I punched the corners of a piece of Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock with the Iron Eagle punch. I then layered with a square of SEI striped paper from the Dill Blossom collection. I pierced around the edges of the punched panel for a little more texture. What you can't see in this pic is the little frame that is around the edge of the inchie panel. I took a little strip of paper 1/16" wide and wrapped it around the edges of the inchie to create the frame. This is a little trick I learned from Karen when she wias here last May. Man how time flies! For this little guy I cut a couple of strips of the SEI cardstock and added some brown Dew Drops as embellishments. What you can't see here is that I sprayed Gold Memories Mist over the card/inchie and it is so pretty and shimmery! For this one, I used a bigger square of the striped paper and a smaller square of the Double Dot cardstock. The ribbons are from Amuse. Just for your info...........I love this ribbon! Okay, so I love all ribbon, but that's supposed to be a secret!
Here is the last one. Mr. Pumpkin is layered on a brown panel and then the striped panel. I hand wrote "Happy Fall" in the corner and embellished with a button and some hemp cording. The edges were distressed with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and then a little Adirondack Ginger ink was rubbed around the edges. If you want more info about the inchies, you can check out Inchie Arts here. All inchie supplies used can be purchased at The Cat's Meow. hugs,
