BLD Tuesday-Lollipop Ella Valentine

Hello and happy Tuesday.  I have finally come down from all of the CHA trip hoopla and am getting back into the swing of things.

Today I am sharing a card I created using the Lollipop Ella Valentine image from By LORi Designs.

I have been trying to use up some of my scrap stash so I pulled out these pretty pink and green scraps and built my card around them.  I colored this sweet Ella Valentine with Copic markers.  The dots on her bow and the heart are pretty and sparkly with the help of some Diamond Stickles.  I finished off the card with some buttons and twine.

Be sure to head on over to By LORi Designs and check out the amazing creations by the rest of the team.

There is still time to play with the latest BLD Challenge, you will find it HERE.

Saddle Up

Hello!  So the title of my post is "Saddle Up" and I bet you are wondering where in the heck is her saddle?

This week on the Tombow blog, my teamies and I have been sharing awesome projects using adorable fabrics from Samantha Walker's Saddle Up line from Riley Blake Designs.

I decided to gussy up an unfinished wooden mirror that I had picked up at the craft store some time ago.  I started by spreading down an even coat of Tombow Mono Aqua to the unfinished frame and laid the Flower Brown fabric over the top, smoothing out any wrinkles and set it aside to dry. While I was waiting, I decided to create a pretty fabric flower with some of the other adorable prints.  I chose to use:  Medallion Yellow, Vignette Blue, and Gingham Brown

I used my Spellbinders Blossom Three die set to cut the flowers.  I cut six each of the yellow and blue and four of the brown and folded them in half and then in quarters and added a tack stitch at the bottom of each flower petal.  To assemble the flower I punched a 1 1/4" circle out of scrap cardstock and added some Tombow Mono Multi and set it aside to dry to a tacky (aka repositionable) feel.  I added the six yellow petals and then a bit more of the Tombow Mono Multi and repeated the layering process with the 6 blue petals and again with the four brown petals.  The flower was finished with a metal button and some twine and is resting on a bed of foliage created from two tones of green cardstock.  The larger fronds were cut from my Silhouette Cameo and the smaller branches are punched from a Martha Stewart punch.  For the small blue flowers on the branches, I punched 1/4 inch circles and then cupped them using a #3 ball stylus and mouse pad.  I used Tombow Mono Multi to adhere all of the greens and the tiny blue flowers to the frame.  The fabric flower was attached using Tombow Power Tabs.

As a finishing touch I added a tiny dot of brown to the center of each of the bitty blue flowers with Tombow Dual Brush Marker in #977 Saddle Brown.

Decorative M Plaque

Whew, I am sure glad that the end of the week is here.  Tonight my dear hubby is taking me out to eat and I am looking forward to that for sure.

This week on the Tombow blog the gals have been sharing projects created using one of Tombow's Correction Tapes.  I chose to use the Mono Correction Tape-Pen Style, Fine Line for my project.  I have to say I was beyond stumped when I started.  You see, this week is also an ABC week on the Tombow blog so that meant I had to create "anything but a card", I am such a card girl and had originally thought I would try to use the correction tape to create a resist background for a card but had to adjust the wind in my sails and this is what I came up with.

I started by lightly sanding this pre-finished letter so that the adhesive would have a nice base to adhere to.  I added a layer of Tombow Mono Aqua and then covered it with some 12 x 12 print paper from Kaisercraft and let it sit overnight to make sure that it was stuck down really well.  I used the Tombow Correction Tape to create the line and faux stitching around the edges of the plaque.  The correction tape is bright white, so I sponged on some Adirondack Aqua ink to tone it down a bit.  I created the main flower in the floral spray using the Blossom Three Spellbinders die and then added some foliage using punches and dies.  The smaller tulle flowers are from Prima.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
