deconstructed 73/TPE169 Scarecrow

Happy Sunday everyone.  My hubby and I just got back from having a yummy mexican lunch at one of our local restaurants.  Today I had the vegetarian quesadilla and it was so big that I had to bring half home for later.  Oh darn!

Today's card definitely has fall written all over it, although it is supposed to warm up again     mid week which is good because I am not ready for it to be cold yet.

I combined The Pink Elephant and Deconstructed Sketch challenges for this week to create  today's card.  The print papers are all from Farmhouse Paper Company.  I fell in love with this paper line at the Summer CHA show and was so glad when we got it in at work. I stamped the scarecrow from the Our Craft Lounge Fall Scarecrow set and colored it with markers and did a little paper piecing for his coat and the trim on his hat.  The little leaves under the buttons are from this EP Silhouette cut file.

This beautiful photo and awesome sketch were my inspiration.

OCL138 Spooky & Sweet

Happy, happy, joy, joy....glad it is the weekend.  Had a great class this morning and then came home and made a little treat "folder" for the Our Craft Lounge Challenge for this week.

This week the challenge is "spooky and sweet" and I managed to wrap both of those up in this one project.

I created a simple folder from a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet of kraft cardstock.  I scored at 4" from  each of the ends to create a little folder with a 1/2" spine.  I didn't create a pocket for the inside, instead I just added some Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive to the inside and stuck a snack size bag of Nutter Butter cookies right on top.

I ran the folder through my Cuttlebug with a  Sizzix plaid patterned embossing folder.  Sorry, I don't know the name.  I then went about decorating the front with various scraps of paper that were on my desk.  I cut the spiderwebs with my Cameo from THIS Silhouette cut file. I stamped the sentiment and spider from the Our Craft Lounge A Little Witchy set and tied the folder closed with some 1/8" black velvet ribbon from May Arts.  I thought this ribbon might be too fancy, but it kinda looks like fuzzy spidey legs :)

Here are the details for this weeks challenge.  Why don't you play along?

Simply Fall OCL136

Hi, today I am sharing a card I created for this weeks challenge on the Our Craft Lounge Blog.  This week the challenge was to used buttons and bows.  Easy challenge I say!

I stamped the pumpkin from the Simply Fall set once and then masked it off to add the pumpkins to the left and right of the center image.  I stamped the pumpkin two more times and cut out one and added it to the center pumpkin and on the other pumpkin, I cut just the center portion and added it to main pumpkin using foam tape.  This gave the card a little dimension without adding alot of bulk.

There is still time to play along, you will find all of the details HERE.

Have a great day!  The weekend is almost here :)

happy thanksgiving hexagons

Good Monday morning!  I am off and running like a chicken with my head cut off this morning.  I have a crazy, busy week and then I get to run off for a few days with some of my besties and hang out on the beautiful Central Coast. Friday can't come soon enough!

Today I am sharing a card that works for a couple of challenges, I love it when that happens!

I have to say, when I started this card I had something different in mind.  I played around with the design, images, sentiments and nothing seemed to be working right.  I finally decided to use THIS Silhouette cut file to create my card and ended up with this simple, but pretty design. The chocolate cardstock is from Gina K. Designs and the prints are from Jillibean Soup. I used Tombow Mono Dots Adhesive to hold each piece of the hexagon into the frame and it worked perfectly. The sentiment is from the Our Craft Lounge Crafty Cling Nuts About You set. I really enjoyed playing with the hexagons and will give them another try soon.
This card is for the following two challenges:

best witches

Happy Tuesday!
Today I am sharing a card I created for the Our Craft Lounge Challenge #134
which is a supply challenge.  This week, we are to use twine on our cards.
I LOVE twine!

My inspiration for this card was the Deconstructed Sketch 68.
I stamped the witches legs onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with markers.  The print cardstock is from Darcie's.  The buttons, ribbon and twine are from my stash.  There is still time to play along with the OCL Challenge and have the chance to win.  You can find all of the details HERE.

together we can touch the sky

Happy Tuesday Y'all!

Today I am sharing another card that I created for the OCL Challenge #133 this week.  The challenge this week was to create any card/project using Our Craft Lounge Stamps.  We know that not everyone has OCL stamps (gasp).  We wanted you to be able to play along, so our amazing desinger, Debbie Corbari, created this FREE digi image called Love Floats that you can download, print and use to play along with the challenge this week. See, we have made it easy for you to play along!

You can download the FREE digi HERE.

Isn't this balloon adorable?  I printed the image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock with my HP 6515 printer and it worked just fine.  I have had these fun dot prints in my stash for some time and thought they would be perfect for this fun balloon.  The sentiment is from the Our Craft Lounge Love is in the Air set.  This set is the perfect companion to the Love Floats digi.  OCL also has another set called Spilling Over that would work well with this image too!

Now, here is the BIG news:

have a sunny day

As we ease into fall, one of the things that I think about is the beautiful colors that come with the season.  Rich, warm golds and browns with a touch of green.  Ahhhh!

This card started with a base of Gina K. Designs PL Dark Chocolate cardstock that was layered with some fun distressed double dot paper from Bo Bunny.  I cut the diamond pattern strip with my Silhouette Cameo and attached the dot and decorative strip with Tombow Mono Dots Roller.  For the next strip I used the Tombow Mono Dots Roller to adhere the tiny strips of dot paper to the edges of the print and then popped this up using Tombow Foam Tabs.  The pretty sunflower is from the Our Craft Lounge Fall Sunflower set was colored with the Tombow Irojiten Color Dictionary Pencils.  I used the fluorescent colors from the Seascape set and I really like how vibrant the flower turned out. The floral image panel was popped up with Tombow Foam Tabs.

This week the OCL Blog Challenge #133 is a simple one....use OCL stamps. Don't have any OCL stamps, no problem.  OCL is having a sale starting today.  25% off orders of $25.00 or more (before tax and shipping).  No coupon code required.  NO wholesale orders and no backorders.  Sale ends Monday night.

Sunshine Cheer

Happy Wednesday!   Today I am spotlighting the Sunshine Cheer set from Our Craft Lounge.  This set is very versatile and is sure to be a classic in your collection.

For my first card, I used the adorable cloud and heart rain drops images to create a quick card that would be good to send a loved one who is far away.  The heart rain was stamped on a scrap of distressed dot paper from Memory Box and layered onto a white scrap and then adhered to the red card using Tombow Mono Dots adhesive.  The cloud was stamped onto a scrap of white paper and popped up with a Tombow Foam tab just above the heart rain.  The image was stamped in black ink.  Some twine and buttons finish off this card.

For this card, I stamped the adorable sun image several times and then colored it with Copic Markers and added some Diamond Stickles for sparkle.  I added some blue/white twine and an orange button and it was good to go.

When my boys were little I used to send You Are My Sunshine to them.  They would probably look at me like I was nuts if I thought about singing it to them now.  :)

I would love it if you would head over to the Our Craft Lounge Blog and check out the other "Fun in the Sun" cards I am showcasing today.

    OCL Blog Hop-Everyday Sentiments

Good Morning!  Today I am hopping with the rest of the team from Our Craft Lounge and I  am excited to share with you a card created with a new set from Our Craft Lounge called Everyday Sentiments designed by Kendra Wietstock.

When I am creating a card using large or bold print designer paper/cardstock, I like the sentiment to be the center of attention.  These beautiful print papers are from the Echo Park For the Record 2-Documented collection.  This sentiment is actually one long sentiment but for this design I needed the words to be one on top of the other so I just snipped the words apart and placed them on my block the way I wanted.  If I want to use it as a one line sentiment next time, no problem as you can just place the words on the block that way too!  Love that about the OCL Crafty Clear stamps.  I used the July Sketch for You to Try for my layout.  You can find all of the details and a pic of the sketch HERE.

Please visit each of the blogs today and leave a comment for a chance to win one of the three soon to be released sets.

    Thanks for everything

Whew, it has been a busy week.  I have had a blast at CHA this week, met tons of great people and even had a chance to hang with my fellow Tombow teamie, Debbie Fisher.
In just a few hours I will be on a plane and headed for home.

I created this little box as a thank you for my sweet neighbor because she gave me a bunch of her beautiful sweet peas a few days before I left.  They smell so good!

I cut the box out of Graphic 45's A Ladies Diary Collection cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo.  I just love being able to quickly put a nice little gift together when I need.  I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots on the glue tabs for the box and lid and it worked perfectly to hold them together.  Nice and strong.  I also cut some scalloped circles with the Silhouette and used them to create a flower for the top of the box.  I used Tombow Mono Multi to hold each of the layers of the flower together.  I used a Tombow Power Tab to adhere the flower to the ribbon/box top.  All of the ribbons are from May Arts.

I stamped the sentiment from the Our Craft Lounge Big Thanks set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto some ivory cardstock and a scrap of paper from the Ladies Diary Collection. I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots to attach the layers to the base cardstock and also to adhere the ribbon to the card.  One thing I really like about this type of adhesive runner is that it is easy to run down the backside of the ribbon.  If any of the adhesive hangs off the edges of the ribbon, you can quickly rub it away with your finger.  Easy peasy!

    Got Wobble?

Wow!  What an awesome week.  My hubs has been home and we have been busy as we we are getting ready to update our kitchen a bit and yesterday we spent some time in town finalizing our choice for the backsplash.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don't change my mind.....again. :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July, here is another one of my Independence Day cards that I have been sharing with you this week.

Today I am sharing a simple card that I created using a fun new product that allows your focal image to wobble.  An Action Wobble is a little spring device that has a self stick tab on the top and bottom.  When attached to the card and the back of a focal image the image will wobble to and fro.  When this card is tipped from side to side the flag waves. I colored the flag with Tombow Dual Brush pens.  I used some Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots to adhere each of the flat layers on my card.  The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge's Star Spangled set panel I used some Tombow Foam Tabs to pop up the sentiment panel.

Here is a short video showing how the flag wobbles:

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Happy Fourth!

Wishing you all a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Today's card was pretty quick and easy.  I cut each of the star layers with my Silhouette and then embossed the blue layer with the stars Cuttlebug EF.  I also embossed a scrap of the blue cardstock with the stars EF and cut out one of the stars for the focal element.  The sentiment is from the Our Craft Lounge Star Spangled set.
