recycle/repurpose

Woooo Hoooo! It's Friday!  I hope your week went well and send you wishes for a great weekend!  I have been busy helping to organize a stamping retreat (our 13th year) that will be held next weekend.  There is lots and lots to do to prep as we have 4 amazing teachers and 100 crafty ladies rolling into town and we need to keep them busy!

Since Earth Day was this week, I thought I would "recycle" a couple of my cards and share them with you.  This helped me out a ton because my crafting time has been slim this week.

Both of these cards are favorites of mine and I hope you will like them too!

For this card, I embossed the floral image in white embossing powder and then added some color with Tombow Dual Brush pens.  I used a damp baby wipe to smudge the ink around a bit.  I love the effect it gave :)  This card has multiple layers and I used Tombow Foam Tabs and Tombow Xtreme Glue Tape to adhere everything together.

For this card, I stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and the colored it in with Tombow Dual Brush pens and used more of the Tombow Foam Tabs and Xtreme Glue Tape to bring everything together.  I added a little glitter for some pop!

If you find yourself with some crafting time this weekend, I hope you will think about recycling or re-purposing.  If you do, please be sure to come back here and leave a link to your project.  I would love to see it!

RI WIW Designers Choice Challenge

It's Wednesday and you know what that means, it is What If? Wednesday on The House That Stamps Built blog and Cheri has challenged the Repeat Rock Stars to create a card/project using flowers.

I have used the Repeat Impressions Posies #632-H to create my card.  I stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it in with markers.  I added some pearls to the center of the flowers for a little pop!  The base card was created by die cutting two decorative edge panels and adhering them together at the top 1/2".  To do this, you will score one piece 1/2" from the top edge and then adhere the second piece in that space only.  This will create your hinge for your card.  A little ribbon was all that was needed to finish off the design.

We would love for you play along?

Be sure to stop by each of the design team blogs to see how they used Wendy's amazing sketch!
