OCL Inspired by Challenge 117

Happy Monday Y'all! I hope your weekend was everything you hoped for and for all of the Mom's out there, I hope your Mom's Day was the best ever!

This week on the Our Craft Lounge Blog we were challenged "Pin It" which means we were to create a card that was inspired by something from Pinterest.  If you don't know what Pinterest is, it is a virtual cork board that you can pin things to while you are surfing the net.  If you haven't signed up yet and need an invite, let me know and I will send you one.  You will be hooked!

My card was inspired by the card shown below.  I fell in love with the layout of this card as soon as I saw it and knew it would be perfect for this challenge as it is a layout I could use over and over and create a different look each time.    I added a few more flags, used butterflies in place of the buttons and twine instead of the stitching .  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Our Craft Lounge Big Birthday Wishes set.

You can find Lynn's original post HERE.

Play along with us this week and be entered to WIN a $20 gift certificate from  Our Craft LoungeYou have until 11:59pm Thursday, May 17th to enter.   Participate as many times as you like!   A random winner will be selected and posted here on the OCL blog at the beginning of next month. Here are the rules: use any stamps that you wish – get BONUS POINTS when you use OCL stamps!  Link to your card/project using the link tool at the bottom of THIS post. – **be sure to link DIRECTLY to your challenge card – not a general blog or gallery link & add the appropriate photo.  Use the challenge as your basis – do whatever inspires you, but please base it on the challenge. Hoppy Easter

Hi there and welcome to my blog!  If this is your first visit or you've been here before, I do thank you for stopping by and commenting.  I love to read each and every sweet comment you leave me.

The card I am sharing with you today is for this weeks Twisted Thursday challenge on the Outlawz Challenge group.  This week our Twisted challenge is to create a card with an Easter Theme.
This adorable bunny from The Cat's Pajamas Sugar, Sugar set does the trick!

I inked up the stamp with some Adirondack Espresso ink and then colored it in with Copic markers.
The pink panels were embossed with a CB EF (sorry, I don't know the name).  The image was colored with Copic markers and some Warm Highlight ECD Glitter was added to the eggs for a bit of sparkle.

We would love to have you join in on the fun over at the Outlaws group.  Every day of the week there is a new challenge.  You can find today's challenge HERE.

Hello Friend

Helloooo my dear friends!  Today on the Outlawz challenge group the Twisted Thursday challenge is to create a card/project with "Friendship" as the theme.

I love the look of layered backgrounds so I pulled out a couple of my favorite Hero Arts background stamps and went to work.  First I inked up the Large Fabric Design with Orchid Brilliance ink and stamped into on some ivory cardstock and then I inked up the Friend Definition stamp with Rich Cocoa Memento ink and over stamped it.  I trimmed the panel down to the size I wanted and then layered it onto some GKD PL Chocolate cardstock.  I die cut another piece of Chocolate cardstock with the Cat's PJ's Pinking Cut Up die and added it to the print piece.  Next, I added some crochet ribbon from May Arts and created a rolled flower with some May Arts Striped Grosgrain ribbon.  For the flower, I folded a strip of ribbon in half and then cut it about 3/4 of the way down every 1/4" or so.  I then rolled it up and secured the bottom with a Tombow Power Tab.  I fluffed the flower a bit to give it a shabby look and then plopped a big pink brad from American Crafts right down in the middle and layered it onto a American Crafts Bubblegum pink cardstock. To finish off the card, I added a few Kaisercraft pearls and some leaves from the Poppystamps Meadowleaf die.

Why don't you head on over to the Outlawz challenge group and play along with the challenge this week.  You could have a chance to win some fabby prizes.

Go for the Icing

Happy Monday......is it?  I hope your weekend was a good one. On Saturday we went to Fresno to buy one of these and we came home to a bunch of that cold, white stuff that the weatherman said we were going to get.  Yuck!  It snowed off and on for a few hours, but we really only ended up with a light dusting.  Thank goodness!

Yesterday, I found a little time to get into the studio and play.  I recently joined the Outlawz Challenge group and on Sunday's they post a new CAS challenge.  CAS is so hard for me to do, I always have good intentions of keeping my cards fresh and clean but tend to over layer or embellish.  I am pretty happy with how this card turned out though.  I combined the CAS sketch from the Outlawz with the TCPTuesday challenge for this week which is to use these colors:

which I paired with this sketch:
I stamped this sweet bunny from The Cat's PJ's Forget About the Cake set onto a scrap of white cardstock with brown ink and then colored with Copics (colors listed below) and paper pieced with some of the adorable new Stella and Rose line from My Minds Eye.  Want this stamp/paper?  You can get them here

Recipe:
Stamps:  Forget About the Cake-Cat's Pajamas
Paper:  Neenah Solor White, Stella and Rose-MME
Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa
Extras:  Copics (BG72, R20, R30, R32,W1,W7 and Blender), White Glossy Accents, Diamond Dust Glass Glitter, Yellow Spica pen, Clear Glossy Accents

CSS Treasure Chest Hop

Happy Friday Y'all!

Tonight I have gathered together with several of  my fellow Center Stage Alumni to introduce you to our first Treasure Chest Blog Hop.  The idea behind this hop is that we will be digging into the Treasure Chest from time to time and pulling out treasures to share with you.  Tonight we are sharing stamps from the Animal Kingdom...........Gina K's Animal Kingdom that is.  The challenge was to use any of the GKD sets that had an animal in it.  I chose to use the beautiful owl from the Hope Grows set illustrated by the talented Theresa Momber

You should have arrived at my blog from the ever so talented Lori McAree's blog, if not you can go back to StampTV and start from the beginning.  Really you should, you don't want to miss a thing!

I chose to follow along with this weeks Outlawz color challenge to use Lime, Charcoal and White and some bling.  I kinda tossed in a bit (okay a lot) of black too!  In an effort to use up some scrap my card is sized at 3 1/2" x 6".  I colored this adorable little owl with C1 and C3 Copics and sprinkled in some Stardust pen for a bit of glitz.  I cut the leafy flourish from some lime cardstock and then added some shadowing with YG03 and YG09 Copics.  To create the blinged out edging, I used both the postive and negative sections from the edge die.  I love how it worked out, I guess you would call that "seredipity."

Now that you have made it this far, I want to let you know that Gina K. is going to give away a free set valued at $24.95 or less to one lucky person.  Be sure to stop by each of the blogs along the hop and leave a comment.  Entering to win is as easy as that.  On Tuesday March 1, Gina will randomly choose a winner.  It could be you!

I am sending you on to Melissa Shultz's blog, where she has created a fabulous project for you.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Hope Grows-Gina K. Designs
Paper:  PL Smoky Slate, Black, White-GKD, Lime Green and Dot Print-SEI
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Tell it to the Paw

Hello!  I was thinking it was a little chilly here today, but then I received an e-mail from my friend Karen this morning and she is staying in and doing some baking as it is a whopping 6 degrees where she is at.  I think it is supposed to be about 55 degrees here today.  That is short sleeve weather for her.  LOL

The card I am sharing with you today was created for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 96.  Every week I look at and save the awesome sketches that Karen creates and I always think I will have time to play along and then my week gets crazy and that is the end of that.  This morning I had some time and was bound and determined to play along.  I think this little bear from the Cat's Pajamas Big Bear set is adorable.  I knew I had to have this stamp as soon as I saw it and was thrilled when we received it at The Cat's Meow.  I bought it right away, I wanted to be sure to get him before he was gone.  LOL   The set has two different sentiments, one for the holidays and the one I used above.  I stamped Mr. Bear with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Ivory cardstock and colored with Copics markers (E33, E53 and E57).  I did a little paper piecing to his ears and paws, added some faux stitching, button and twine and called it good.

Well, I better get moving.  I have laundry to do today and the desk in my studio looks like a bomb went off.

Hugs,

Christmas Bunny

Isn't this little bunny adorable?  I got him last month when Alma from The Cat's Pajamas came for a visit at The Cat's Meow.   I have been so busy, that this is the first time I have had a chance to ink him up.  I paper pieced his hat and a few of the presents and the rest was colored with Copics.  The print cardstocks are from  two different paper collections from My Minds Eye.  I love how they worked so well together.  The sketch is #91 from the Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog.  I have been wanting to create with one of their sketches for some time now and today was the day!  Over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, Cindy has asked that we use a circle on our card/project this week.  Love it when challenges can come together and play nice!

Stamps:  Define Good-The Cat's Pajamas
Paper:  My Minds Eye (Colorful Christmas and ??)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Extras:  Copics, Nesties, Rhinestones, Glitter, Corner Chomper, Sakura Stardust Glitter pens, Spica Glitter pens

Stamp happy,
