Thanks!

I created this card for Jen's DTGD challenge on SCS. Her challenge was to use a tag. I don't know why I didn't just do a simple tag of some sort. (insert eye roll). I think I had it in my mind that I wanted to use the silhouette floral image on my next project and couldn't get past that. So after quite a bit of time, I came up with this card. My heat tool was feeling a little neglected, so I embossed everything. I know the "tag" is pretty small, but it's there!

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Just for Fun (Silhouette), American Art Stamp (Thanks!), CHF (Pretty Pattern BG)

Paper: PTI (Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist)

Inks: Brilliance (Coffee Bean)

The extras: Clear EP, Ribbon, Nesties Labels 4, Brad

Now, if you are still with me, I want to dedicate this card to everyone who comes here and reads my blog. I have lost a few readers lately, but I have gained several more. I can't thank you all enough for taking a little bit out of your busy lives to see what I've cooked up!

Hugs to all,

Sweet Sunday Butterflies

I created this card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge (SSSC27) on Karen's blog. I have had this gorgeous Picotage background stamp from CHF for awhile now and had not opened the package, so I thought it was about time! I inked the stamp with Berry Sorbet ink and stamped it onto Sweet Blush cs. I trimmed the right edge of the cardfront about and inch or so and then punched a piece of Sweet Blush with my MS edge punch and attached it to the backside of the front panel. I ran a one inch piece of Berry Sorbet through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots EF and attached it to the inside back flap of the card. I tied some Sweet Blush satin ribbon around the edge and tied it in a sweet little knot. For the sentiment panel, I stamped the Butterfly words from Penny Black in Berry Sorbet ink and cut the circle with my nesties. It is hard to see, but I sponged a bit of Berry Sorbet around the edge of the sentiment panel. I attached that to a Berry Sorbet scallop circle panel and finished it off with some MS punch butterflies that were dressed up with a little blingy bling. Talk to you soon,

California Poppy

Good Monday Morning! I will be off to work soon, but wanted to share this card with you first. Being a Cali girl, I have always loved Poppies, but lately I have really been getting into them. When I saw this image from CHF, I knew I had to have it. I embossed the image with detail gold EP onto Canson 140# cold press watercolor paper (yes, paper matters) and then used Jerri Kay's Tombow watercolor technique for coloring. I was lucky enough to take her class at CHA and all I can say is WOW! I used various shades of yellow/orange/green for this card. I didn't keep track, but if you want specifics I will pull them and let you know. The green and orange cardstocks are from my stash and the print is from Basic Grey's Marrakech line. A friend sent me a few pieces from her 6 x 6 pad. Note to my paper buyer (need this too!) The ribbon/trim is from Maya Road (I think), I have had it for awhile now. The buttons are from various places. I used my Nesties for the oval and scalloped oval. Oh, I must get ready for work. hugs to all,

Happy Valentines Day!

Here is the Valentine I made for my sweetie. The stamps are from CHF/Kim Hughes and the papers are from the Rouge Paperie collection from Making Memories. The bees were colored in with copics and some Diamond Stickles was added to the wings. The image was stamped in Espresso Adirondack ink. The brown satin ribbon was from Julee at Verve.

David gets up way early in the morning, so I put it right by the coffee pot for him to find. He is sure not to miss it there!

Happy Valentines Day to all of my family and friends. I hope this day finds you snugglie with your loved ones.

hugs,

Mojo 72 --- Showin' ya the backside!

Heck no, not my backside.....blech! However, I did create this weeks Mojo Monday card using the backside (secondary print) from 3 of the SEI Lovebirds collection cardstocks. The fronts are all springy feeling and the backs are more muted using browns and peach tones.
I really like the sketch this week, it went together pretty quickly too (only 1 hour versus all day).
The floral stamp used was from the Kim Hughes Nature Silhouettes collection. The verse stamp is from the Hero Arts Special Messages set. The dark aqua cardstock is Dotted Swiss from Bazzill. You can't see the dots on the front, but they look cool on the inside and back of the card. I used Martha's lace punch and a button and chipboard flower (covered) from my stash.
Well, I off to eat a little Maui Zowie pizza for dinner........YUM-O!
hugs,
