RI WIW: Designer's Choice Challenge

Hey there y'all!  Happy Wednesday to each and every one of you!

I hope this finds you having a great week!

This week Repeat Impressions Rock Star, Cheri has challenged us to create a card/project with a Sun, Sand or Surf theme.

I love going to the beach and walking along the ocean edge and looking for shells so I chose to use one of my favorite Repeat Impressions shell images.

I love using cream and gold when I am creating sea themed cards, makes me think of the shimmer that you see in the sand.

I started with a top fold cream card and then added a panel to the top that was cut with a curved edge and embossed with a "bubble" embossing folder.  I added it to the card with foam tabs.  Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Sea Quartet #8508-U and the Conch Shell #2410-I with Versamark ink and embossed them with detail gold embossing powder.  I cut out the shell and mounted it to the bubble panel with a foam tab.

Now, be sure to head on over to each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and check out their awesome creations.

Now, we would love it if you would play along this week, you could have a chance to win an awesome prize.  Head on over to The House That Stamps Built blog and check out all of the details.

RI WIW-Color Challenge

Happy, happy Wednesday!  It is Color Challenge week on The House That Stamps Built blog and Wendy has given us these fun, summery colors to work with:

Aren't those colors the BOMB DIGGITY?

Here is my creation:

I know it looks like I used orange cardstock for the layer behind the image panel, but it is yellow in real life.  I tried to fuss with it when editing and this is the best I could get without totally ruining the tones of the other colors.  Someone please give me a lesson in photo editing in Photoshop.....I would love ya forever!

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Sunny Quartet #8511-U with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock and did some simple coloring with Copic markers.  I added some Aqua Stickles to the flowers on the sandals, but it sure is hard to see.  I told you I needed a photo editing lesson :)

I can't thank you enough for stopping by today and I would love it if you would check out my fellow Rock Star's blogs as well.

We would love to have you play along with the challenge as well, head on over to The House That Stamps Built for all of the details.  Wendy will be giving away an awesome prize to one lucky person who plays along :)

RI WIW-Designer's Choice Challenge

Hi friends!

Happy Wednesday!  Today on The House That Stamps Built blog, Patti has issued the challenge to create a card/project using White and one other color.

I know some don't consider black as a color, but it is to me and it is so classic when paired with white.

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Tulip Bouquet #912-K in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some white cardstock and simply added a few pearls and a bow for embellishment.

I didn't even add glitter glue!  It is a miracle folks!

I think this card could be used for any occasion, just add your favorite sentiment to the inside and you are ready to go.

Please be sure to head on over to each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and check out their amazing creations.

RI WIW-Designer's Choice Challenge

Hi there!

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog is the Designer's Choice Challenge and it is my turn to pick the challenge.  I picked a "Fresh & Fruity" Theme.

Right now, I am loving fresh grown strawberries and chose to use one of my favorite Repeat Impressions stamps to create my card.

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Strawberries #515-L onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  Next, I cut the image panel and two coordinating panels with some Cross Stitch Oval Dies and popped up the image panel with foam tape.  The oval panels are added to some pretty print layers and for a finishing touch I added some glitter glue and Glossy Accents to the leaves and pearls flanking each side of the image panel.

Be sure to stop by each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and check out their Fresh and Fruity creations.

RI WIW-Photo Challenge

Wow, it has been another busy week here in the Cash household.  This week I was lucky to have my Aunt and Uncle here for a couple of days.  I really enjoyed their company while they were here.

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog we have a photo inspiration challenge.  I must say, this photo stumped me a bit.  I wasn't sure if I would go with the colors in the photo or the subject of the photo.  When it came down to getting inky, I ended up going with the wine theme and a bit of the mottled background.

I used stamps from the Repeat Impressios Wine Time collection.  I used the Wine for Two #9507P, Cheers #9509F and the Grapes 9514F.  I created the background using Color Burst powders on watercolor paper.

Here is our photo inspiration:

RI WIW-Anything Goes

Happy, happy Wednesday friends!

I was so excited that this was an "Anything Goes" week on The House That Stamps Built blog.  The last six months have been full of trials for our family and sometimes we didn't know if we were coming or going.  We have had a family member with a 4 month stent in the hospital and we are now on the road to recovery.  We've helped another family member find a new in home care provider and that is working out wonderful.  Recently our family lost a wonderful man in a tragic automobile accident and last week we had the chance to celebrate his amazing life.  So you see, it has been quite a year!

I chose to share a card with you that I created and shared last summer.  This card is so special to me because it showcases the sea and to me the sea is a place to go when you need to take a deep breath, gather your thoughts and recharge.

A few times a year, I am fortunate to visit the sea with some amazing friends and family.  It may be the West Coast or the East Coast, but no matter it is a time of joy for me and a time I cherish.

I think this card says it all.  My wish for you all is that you will get a chance to dip your toes into the sea, take a deep breath and relax and enjoy all that life has to offer.

I chose a sand/surf color theme and the RI Sea Quartet #8508-U stamp.  I embossed the image in gold embossing powder and edged it with some Tea Dye Distress ink.  I popped the image up onto an embossed aqua panel and then added that to a deep teal panel and sand colored card.  For a finishing touch, I added some shimmery gold Dew Drops in two of the corners.

Now, I ask you to please stop by each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs, check out their amazing creations and leave a little love while you are there. :)

RI WIW-Designers Choice Challenge-Heat Embossing

Hello friends!

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog my fellow Rock Star, Kathy has challengH

Easy peasy as heat embossing is everywhere in the card making world.

I remember the first heat embossing demo I saw, it was nearly 24 years ago!

Needless to say, I left the store with a stamp, a pigment pad and ......a Milwaukee heat gun.  I still use the same Milwaukee heat gun to this day!

Now, on with the show....

I heat embossed the Repeat Impressions Rose Window 917-I in black and colored it in with Spectrum Aqua markers. I popped up the image panel onto some foam dots.  I also heat embossed the RI Wishing you Happiness 1819-I  in black powder.

See, I told you it was easy peasy this week :)

Be sure to head on over to my fellow Rock Star teamies blogs and check out their amazing creations:

RI What If Wednesday--Color Challenge

Hey, hey!  I am starting to blog again after taking the Month of March off.  I must admit, that having a little time off has helped to renew my love of stamping and being creative.

There is no better way to kick off my return than with the Repeat Impressions, What If Wednesday Challenge on The House That Stamps Built blog.

This week Wendy (owner of RI) has chosen the following color palette for us to work with:

I chose to use the White as my accent color and this is the card I came up with.

I started with a kraft cardbase folded into a gatefold card and added a white panel to each side.  Next, I embossed two kraft panels and added one to each flaps.  Next, I stamped the RI Strawberries 515-L onto a white circle and colored it with markers.  I wanted to keep to the challenge colors, so I used a khaki color for the leaves as the khaki marker had that kraft color with a little tone of green and I thought it would work well.

Next, I stamped the RI Thanks a Bunch #1307-E on a smaller white circle in black ink.  This is a one line stamp and I needed it to fit in the circle so I cut the stamp enabling me to stack the words.  I can still use this as a one line stamp, so this is a win-win for me. :)

I mounted each of the circles onto a coordinating red scalloped circle and adhered them to the front of the card.

I also added a white panel with the strawberries on it to the inside of the card for a nice place to write your personal message.

Be sure to check out each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and see what they have created using Wendy's color challenge.

RI WIW--Inspiration Photo Challenge

Whew!  Can you believe that we are nearly to the third week of February?  Crazy isn't it?

This week on The House That Stamps Built we have been given this beautiful inspiration photo:

I know, you see lots of hearts, pink and red....well, I see hearts and love.  When I put those two things together, this is what I came up with.

1.  Love......I love cheese
2.  Heart......cheese in the shape of a heart

Now what could be better?

How about this adorable mouse with some heart shaped cheese?

I love how this card shows my whimsical side.  I love whimsy as it always makes me smile.  Smiling is good :)

I started by stamping the Repeat Impressions Tumbling Hearts #1210-K in Versamark ink onto an aqua panel and then I stamped the Repeat Impressions Cheese Heart Mouse #4205-G in Archival Black ink onto some 140# cold press watercolor paper and then colored it using Spectrum Noir Aqua markers.  Next I cut the image with a circle die and layered to two additional circle die cut layers.  I masked off everything but the "love" word from the Repeat Impressions I Love You #9711-E (from the Contain Yourself series) and stamped it with black ink.  I finished off the card with some yellow/white bakers twine and a heart button.

Please be sure to stop by each of my fellow Rock Star teamies and check out their
"inspired by" creations.

RI WIW-Designers Choice Challenge

Happy Wednesday Friends!

Today on The House That Stamps Built blog, sweet RI Rock Star, Joy has challenged the team to create a card with a "Thank You" theme.

Well, that was pretty easy peasy :)

I decided to try something new (to me) with this card.  I used the "no line" coloring method.  I stamped the adorable RI Belle #701-K in Memento Desert Sand ink and colored her in with the following Spectrum Noir markers:  BG1, CR2, EB1, EB2, HB1, HB2, HB3, LG2, TN1 and the Blender.  I took my time and worked each section one at a time until I liked how it was looking.  I added some texture to her jacket with some very light cross hatching with the Blender pen.

I stamped the RI Beary Much #1920 in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I wanted the sentiment to have a little curve to it, so I just bent it a little when adding it to the acrylic block.

I want to thank Joy for giving me the beautiful papers that I used on this card, they are the softest lilac colors and they are so pretty.  :)

Be sure to head on over to each of the Rock Star's blogs and check out their awesome creations.

RI What If Wednesday--Color Challenge

Hello friends :)

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog Wendy has challenged us to use the following colors:

Well, you can help but think of Valentine's Day when you see these colors.  I often plot and plan cards out in my head and most of the time they end up nothing like I thought it would.  This card is the exception, it turned out just as I thought it would :)

I started with a red card base and added a white and pink print layer.  Next, I cut a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of white cardstock and stamped the Repeat Impressions Hugs and Kisses Stencil image #1215-H in 3 colors of pigment ink (a light pink, medium pink and red) and embossed them with sparkle embossing powder.  I added some Diamond Stickles to the medium pink XO and the little heart just to make it pop a bit more.

Please head on over to my fellow Rock Star teamies blogs and check out their amazing creations using this color combo.

We would love to have you play along with the challenge as well, head on over to The House That Stamps Built for all of the details.  Wendy will be giving away an awesome prize to one lucky person who plays along :)
