Scraptastic Creation #3

Happy Monday!  I hope today will be the start of a wonderful week for you.  The weather here in California should be pretty nice this week.  This so makes me happy........I don't look forward to the cold at all.

The card I am sharing with you today is a card I made “just for the heck of it”. It seems like between creating for classes and challenges (not that I am complaining) I don’t have a lot of “just for the heck of it” time.

I used a couple of sets from Gina K. Designs for this one. I used Lovely Labels #1 and You are Not Alone. I stamped and embossed the label with Versamark and Clear EP and cut it out by hand…….I can’t believe it, but I don’t have this die set. No problem, after I trimmed the label image, I just sanded the edges a bit with a white sanding block (they kind you use for acrylic nails) and it worked perfectly to smooth out the edges. I stamped the floral image from You are Not Alone on PL Ivory cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then went over each of the blossoms with a Chocolate Spica Glitter pen. It might be hard to see in the photo, but the shimmer is so pretty!  Everything except for the card base is scraps, so I give this a Scrap Factor of 9.

Whatever you do today, make it a happy one!

Recipe:
Stamps: Lovely Labels 1 & You are Not Alone-Gina K. Designs
Paper: Green-notecard from Memory Box, everything else is scrap from previous projects!
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Versamark
Extras: Rhinestones, Chocolate Spica Glitter pen, brads, ribbon, Scallop circle nesties.

Best Day Ever

Hi there!  I found myself with a little extra time and some new Verve stamps, so I thought the best way to break them in was by doing this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I had made this little paper flower a couple of weeks ago using my friend Giovana's tutorial.  You can check it out here. I wasn't sure what I was going to use it on, but thought it was the perfect accent to this weeks sketch.  I cheated a bit and left off the corner accent that you see in the sketch but the frame stamp was so pretty, I couldn't cover it up.  See those cute little tendrils coming off of the flower?  I took teeny little strips of paper, spritzed them with water and wrapped them around a pencil and set them aside to dry.  When removed from the pencil, you can pull on them to stretch them out a bit if you need to.

On a scale of 1-10 this card has a scrap factor of 8. Almost everything used was scraps leftover from a previous class I taught.

See you soon,

The Scrap Factor #1

Hi there!  Today I am sharing a card that I created 100% from scrap. Hence the title Scrap Factor.  I am going to see how many of these scrap cards I can created throughout the remainder of the year.

Everything from the base card to the rhinestones were leftover from a previous card class that I taught.

The dark aqua strip was leftover from cutting a Memory Box card down to create a square card.  I decided to use my EK edger punch on it and then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots EF.  The print cardstock was already this width and I added the brown cardstock to give it a bit of a "pop".  I stamped the Wordsworth Mother Theresa sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto a Neenah White circle and layered it to a brown scallop circle Nestie.  I finished off my card with a bow and a flower (yep, they were leftovers too!)

Do you like to use your scraps when you create?  If so, I would love to see your Scrap Factor cards too, leave me a comment with a link and I will check them out!
