CSS Color Challenge Hop

Hi there and thanks for stopping by for the Gina K. Designs Center Stage Spotlight Color Challenge

Kay chose the following GKD colors for us to choose from:  Dark Chocolate, Tomato Soup, Honey Mustard, In The Navy and Ivory as a neutral.

You should have arrived at my blog from Kay's amazing blog, but if you didn't you can go back to Stamp TV and start at the beginning.

I chose Ivory and In The Navy as my jumping off point.

I have had these print papers in my stash for some time and thought they would work perfectly for this challenge.  I see the Navy, Tomato Soup and Honey Mustard colors popping out everywhere!
I stamped this beautiful stem of leaves from the beautiful GKD Elegant Florals set that was illustrated by Theresa Momber with In The Navy, Tomato Soup and Honey Mustard inks.  I overlapped the branches ever so slightly to add some fullness to the sprays.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Navy as well.  For a finishing touch I added some Diamond Stickles to the Navy leaves only and added some ribbon, buttons and twine.

I think this will make a great masculine birthday card (even if there is a little glitter) :)

Be sure to head on over to Miesje's awesome blog and see what she has created using this awesome fall color palette.

Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle

Wow, it's Monday again...this year has just flown by for me.  I can't believe it is almost Christmas and before you know it 2014 will be here.

Today, the Tombow Designers are sharing projects that we made using glitter from Art Institute Glitter.

I have two sparkly cards to share with you today.

This card was stamped in black ink and colored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then I added some Tombow Mono Aqua and sprinkled Crystal glitter from Art Institute to give the flowers a pretty glisten.  I used Tombow Stamp Runner for panel to panel layers and Tombow Foam Tabs to pop up the image panel.

For this card, I stamped the image in black ink and colored the flowers with a combination of Tombow Dual Brush pens and Irojiten Colored Pencils.  For a finishing touch on this one, I added Tang Ultrafine Pearlescent glitter from Art Institute.  I like how the Tang glitter had just the perfect orange color to go with the beautiful California Poppies.  I used Tombow Stamp Runner for the flat layers and Tombow Foam Tabs to pop up the image panel.

Be sure to leave a comment on each of the blogs along the way today as you could win one of the prizes below:

Fa-BOO-lous Hop with Taylored Expressions and Tombow

Happy Wednesday and welcome to a Fa-BOO-lous hop with Tombow and Taylored Expressions.

You should have arrived at my blog from Shannon White's awesome blog, but if you didn't be sure to go back to Taylored Expressions  and start from the beginning.

I created both of my cards using the adorable Fa-Boo-lous set combined with fun print paper from Doodlebug Designs and awesome adhesives from Tombow.

For this card, I started with an embossed lime green base card and added some Doodlebug print paper flat to the card with Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots.  I stamped this fun witch's legs image with black ink and colored it in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and popped it up with Tombow Foam Tabs.

This card started with a purple base card and then layers of orange and Doodlebug print paper.  Each of these layers are held flat on the base card with Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots.  I stamped this fun row of legs/boots with black ink and colored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink and layered to an orange panel.  I popped up the orange panel with Tombow Foam Tabs.

Here is the hop line up if you should get lost along the way.  Be sure to comment on each of the blogs for a chance to win a fabulous prize pack.  See the details below.

Faux Bookpage

Hey there!  Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged.  I have some projects in the works and will be back to regular blogging again soon.

Today I am sharing a card that I created for Marie's challenge on the Tombow blog.  Marie challenged us to use the page from a book in our project.

I don't own one book that I was willing to tear a page out of, so I went faux for the challenge.

I stamped some kraft cardstock with the Hero Arts Newspaper Background stamp in dark brown ink.  For the main image, I used an ATC sized Art Board from Inchie Arts.  I watercolored the art square with Distress Stains and then stamped the background with the Newspaper stamp and a lighter brown ink.  Then I stamped the flowers from Penny Black in the darker brown ink.  Because the art board is a heavier weight, I used Tombow Mono Multi to adhere the art board to the cardstock layer and then again to the card.  Believe me, this baby isn't coming off in anyway!

I added the ribbon trim using Tombow Mono Adhesive and the button was attached using Tombow Power Tabs.

Be sure to play along with Marie's challenge for a chance to win a Tombow prize pack.

You can find all of the details and the link up here.

GKD 4th of July Hop

This is my second post for the day, please scroll down to see my OWH/Tombow post.

Hi there and Happy 4th of July to you all!

Welcome to this special July 4 Gina K. Designs Hop!  Some of the Design Team and the Center Stage Spotlight Team have some fun cards and projects to share with a patriotic theme and flair!!!  And Gina has a special sale incentive too!  Be sure to scroll down to check it out.

You should have arrived here from Tera's blog, but if you didn't be sure to go back to Gina's blog and start from the beginning.  There are a ton of amazing projects to check out.

I chose to go with a red/white/blue theme for my card but create something that could be used anytime. I embossed the leaves from the GKD Stippled Nature set with white embossing powder onto some GKD PL Cherry Red cardstock and then layered it to some white layering cardstock and adhered both of those to a PL In the Navy cardbase using Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots.  Next I stamped the flower from the same set with Memento Nautical Blue ink onto a white cardstock and layered it to an In the Navy piece.  I popped this up with Tombow Foam Tabs.  For a finishing touch I added a sentiment from the set and some rhinestones to each of the flowers.

Gina is offering a Star Spangled Special for those who want to do a little Independence Day shopping.  The details are listed below.

Isn't that an awesome deal?  Now I will send you on your way to Geri's awesome blog where she will share some amazing eye candy with you.

kissing, part two

Here is another KISS (keep it simply stamped) card for today...

On this card I used the new Neon Daubers from Hero Arts to create the background.  I dabbed some of the Pink, Orange and Yellow onto my craft mat and spritzed them with some shimmery water (water with a little Perfect Pearls mixed in) and then brushed them on in a swirly motion with a soft brush.  Next I swirled the Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen around a few times to add a subtle shimmer.  The Reverse Confetti sentiment is from the Dream in Color set and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I dabbed a bit of Stardust Stickles into the word COLOR, for a bit more shimmer.  You know, you can never sparkle too much! A button and twine were added for a finishing touch.

kissing the afternoon away

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's been a busy and productive day around here.  On Thursday, we purchased a new sofa and loveseat (black leather) so we spent the morning moving out the old and bringing in the new.  I love it!  Then we went to town and did some much needed shopping at Costco, Walmart and we can't forget Whities Pet Store for the dog food!  We went to PF Chang's for lunch and it was yummy.  We had never eaten there before and we really enjoyed it and will go back for sure.  Our server was the bomb!  Wish we could have her every time!

After we got home, I be-bopped into the studio and cranked out a couple more KISS (keep it simply stamped) cards.

I think my normal layer it all up style might be taking the back seat to these quick and simple cards.

I used sentiment stamp from the Reverse Confetti Dream In Color set for this card.

For this card, I pulled out scraps of cardstock from my stash and arranged them in a ROYGBIV (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) fashion.  I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Dream In Color set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a white cloud that I cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  I edged the cloud with the Clear Wink of Stella Brush pen.  The cloud has a pretty silvery lining.

I hope the rest of your weekend is good and please remember to keep the people of Oklahoma and other storm areas in your thoughts and prayers, they sure are getting the worst of it right now.

Little Girls and Boys

Good morning!

I am thrilled to be sharing four cards that were created with the two new Appetizer sets from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  The sets are called Magical Birthday and Have a Ball.  Take a look, I think you will love them!

Today, I am sharing a few quick and easy cards with you. The first two would be great for the special little girls in your lives.

Both cards were created using the Magical Birthday Appetizer set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  I inked up the butterfly using green, pink and orange pigment inks from Clearsnap and embossed it with clear powder. For the Unicorn, I inked up the stamp with blue, aqua and purple pigment inks from Clearsnap and embossed with clear powder. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the the GRS Happy Birthday Truffles set.  I used Tombow Stamp Runner to adhere the print panels to the solid cardstocks for both cards and the striped panels were lifted up with Tombow Foam Tabs.  The pretty ribbons are from May Arts.

Now, I wouldn't want to leave the boys out, so these next two cards were created using the Have a Ball Appetizer set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  For the first card I stamped the image/sentiment with black ink onto white cardstock and then layered the sentiment to a red scrap of cardstock.  The black panel is embossed, although you can't see it in the picture.  For the basketball card, I stamped the image/sentiment in Clearsnap's Candied Yam Chalk Ink onto Kraft cardstock and added a navy layer under the sentiment panel.  The embossed and sentiment  panels were added to the cards using Tombow Stamp Runner and then the sentiment panels were popped up with Tombow Foam Tabs.  Although these cards are for the wee boys in our lives, I added just a bit of ribbon from May Arts to each one.  Nothing to fru fru for the boys though :)

Be sure to stop by the following blogs and check out the teams amazing creations.

Wildflower Friend - GRS Sketch

Hi there!

It's the 10th of the month and you know what that means, it is time for the GRS Monthly Sketch.

The sketch this month was pretty simple and straight forward, so I decided to throw caution to the wind and give my main image panels a little twist (or two).
I started with a white card base and added some yellow print paper from Glitz Designs and  covered the entire front of the card.  Next I stamped the new GRS Wildflower stamp from the Laura Hunter Series in dark blue ink and layered it to some navy cardstock.  I added a little Scattered Straw Distress ink to the edges of the image and some Diamond Stickles to the flower.  I finished off the card with a leafy stem and tied button.  You know...I have said it a million times....no naked buttons. :)

We would love to have you play along and add your creation to the Gourmet Rubber Stamps Facebook page for everyone to see.

Please be sure to stop by each of my teamies blogs and our amazing March Guest Designer,  Jeanne Streiff's blog too!

Butterfly Dreams

Hi there!  Welcome to one of two Gourmet Rubber Stamps releases this month.  Today I am sharing a card from the GRS Laura Hunter Series.
Laura's images are classic and beautiful and I know you will love them.

I tried something a little different with this card.  I started by stamping the Butterfly image onto some white cardstock and then inked up the entire thing with Colorbox Pigment inks from the Jelly Beans Queue and then covered the image with a glue pad and then added Warm Highlight glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs over the top.  Next, I used  a Tombow Mono Zero Eraser to remove the glitter from the butterflies and then I added some Glossy Accents to give them shine and dimension.  The image is layered onto orange cardstock and then popped up onto some yellow print paper with Tombow Foam Tabs and then added to a purple card base using Tombow Stamp Runner.  I finished the card with some pretty purple ombre ribbon from May Arts.

Please be sure to stop by the Gourmet Rubber Stamps Blog and the design team blogs below to check out their amazing creations.

BLD Tuesday-Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Wow, I can't believe it is Tuesday already and time to share some more adorable digi images from By LORi Designs with you.

Although we don't have any snow here right now (thank goodness), we have had lots of rain in the last few days and we really need it, but it makes me want to stay in and stay curled up with my sweet puppies.

Today, my card is full of snowy fun.  Just like the sentiment says, my little snowman is mounted onto an Action Wobble so he really is able to rock around the Christmas Tree.  I colored the snowman and tree with a mix of Copics and Sakura Galaxy pens.  I cut some snowdrifts from white cardstock and added some Stardust Stickles to add a little glisten.

Be sure to head on over to the By LORi Designs blog and check out the rest of the wintery treats the team has to share.

Christmas Rewind

Sometimes best laid plans are just that....best laid aside for another day.
I had some surgery last Friday and I thought for sure I would be able to whip up a mighty fine project for this week's post, but find I am having a small setback in my recovery and will hold off on my "sweet" post until next week.

Today I am going to share a couple of my favorite Christmas cards with you.

I used Tombow Foam Tabs to pop up the snowflake embossed panel onto the white card base.  For the trunk of the tree I added some Tombow Mono Multi and wrapped the trunk with twine.  For the star I used Tombow Mono Multi with some "Tang" glitter from Art Institute.  Want more details, click here.

For this card, I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots to layer my embossed panel to the white card base.  I die cut some snowflakes and covered them with Tombow Mono Aqua and liberally coated them with Crystal Glitter from Art Institute and then popped them up with Tombow Foam Tabs.  For more detail click here.

Hope is Faith

Hi there, this week my Tombow teamies and I have been sharing creations with a pink them in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness this month.

I do know a couple of people who are amazing breast cancer survivors and I dedicate this card to them and any woman who has had to cope with and endure the treatments involved with breast cancer.

I started with a base layer of medium pink cardstock and then added a layer of cream cardstock using my Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots. Next I die cut a frame from the Spellbinders A-2 Polka Dots die template and popped up using some Tombow Foam Tabs.

Next I added another layer of the medium pink with a smaller piece of scrap cardstock that I covered with strips of pink print papers.  This layer was popped up with more of the Tombow Foam Tabs to allow enough room for the ribbon to fit under.  For the final pieces of the puzzle, I added some layers that had been cut with the Spellbinders Scallop Labels One die template.  The sentiment and butterfly are from the Gina K. Designs Hope is Faith set and were stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then the butterfly was colored with some Irojiten Color pencils and then I used the Tombow Dual Brush Blender pen to blend the light/dark pink colored pencils and give the butterfly a softer look.   A little glitter and a few pearls finish off the card.

Don't forget, Tombow has a "Think Pink" Facebook contest going on and if you go to their Facebook page and hit the like button and post a comment saying "Think Pink" you will be entered to win some fabulous package of pink goodies.  Click HERE to like and enter.

Center Stage Alumni Blog Hop

It's time for another Gina K. Designs Center Stage Spotlight Team Hop and this month we are creating cards based on a sketch that I created (see below).

You should have arrived at my blog from Linda Payne's awesome blog, but if you didn't you can go back to StampTV and start at the beginning.

For my card I used the GKD Country Roads set that was illustrated by Theresa Momber. I stamped the image in Memento Potter's Clay ink onto some GKD PL White cardstock and then I watercolored the tree and fence with a waterbrush and a little bit of Memento Bamboo Leaves and Rich Cocoa inks. The image was layered to some GKD PL Pumpkin Spice cardstock.  The card base is also Pumpkin Spice with a layer of GKD PL Sweet Corn and print paper from the Sun Kissed Autumn patterned paper pack.

 Here is my sketch:

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (October 30), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Now, I am going to send you to Melissa's amazing blog, where she has some more eye candy for you.

Winter Wishes

Good Monday Morning!  I woke up to the rain!  I am not a big fan of rain, especially when I have to go out in it but we really need this rain so I am happy to see it.
I guess it is time to cook some chili or maybe a big pot of chicken and dumplings.  Yum!

The card I am sharing with you today is for the new Case this Sketch Challenge.  Below you will see sketch #2.

My card was quick and easy to make.  I started with a base of white cardstock and cut a smaller layer at 4" x 5 1/4" and punched out a large snowflake, ran it through a snowflake embossing folder, glittered the postitive snowflake image and popped it up right back into the negative space that it came out of.  I added a little flag with "winter wishes" from the GKD Snowman Wishes mini set.

Here is the sketch:

Isn't this sketch great?  I can't wait to see what #3 looks like.
