Come and hop with Tombow and Walnut Hollow

Hello and happy Friday to each and everyone of you!  This weekend the Tombow team is hopping with the awesome team at Walnut Hollow.

I chose to get creative with the Walnut Hollow Boutique Tissue Box.  I started by applying a base layer of black acrylic paint to the entire surface of the box.

Next, I added some black print paper to each side of the box using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive, this adhesive worked perfectly for this application!

I cut several flowers using a Silhouette cut file and added some Tea Dye Distress ink to the edges and layered them together using Tombow Mono Multi.  I die cut some leaves out of green print paper using the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die.  I added the foliage to the tissue box using Tombow Mono Multi and then added the flowers using some Tombow Foam Tabs.  I added buttons to the flowers and sequins using a bit more Tombow Mono Multi.

Want to win a fabulous prize?

Walnut Hollow featuring Ann Butler Designs

Hi there and welcome to a special hop with Walnut Hollow and Ann Butler Designs.
Several talented designers have gotten together to create works of art using products from Walnut Hollow and Ann Butler Designs.  Be sure to visit each of the blogs listed below as we wouldn't want you to miss any of their awesome designs.

I worked with the following products:

Ann Butler Designs

I started with a couple of layers of Gesso.  You can also see the Lilac paint on the insides of the handles.

I stamped the long sides with two of the Diamond patterned stamps.  These were stamped in Lilac and Berry inks and then a light layer of Gesso was applied once the inks were dry.  I added some Black Enamel dots and doodles in black permanent ink.

Next, I painted the Berry paint on the inside bottom of the tray, let it dry and applied Gesso over the top.  The Berry paint came through the Gesso and created a pretty pink backdrop for the flowers.

The edges of the tray were painted in Limelight paint and then I added some Gesso with my finger to create a aged/washed look.  I finished off them off with some more Enamel dots and doodles.

The flowers were stamped in Aquamarine and Limelight inks.  Once dry, I outlined them in black permanent marker and added some doodled dots and Diamond Glitter Glue to finish off the tray.

Be sure to visit each of the blogs below for much more inspiration.

Tombow/Walnut Hollow Blog Hop

Welcome to Tombow/ Walnut Hollow Blog hop.

This week Tombow’s Design Team will be showing off some of their favorite creations with Walnut Hollow’s high quality wood products

If you have come here from Tombow Blog then you're on track! If not, you should go back to the Tombow blog and start today’s leg of the hop from there!

I used the Walnut Hollow Card Keeper Box to create a Recipe box for my kitchen.

I added some small wooden balls to the bottom of the box and the lid and then painted it black.  Once the box was dry, I added some print paper to all sides using Tombow Mono Multi.  Next I layered some print paper to some black cardstock using Tombow Stamp Runner and then a bit more Mono Multi to add the twine trim.  I cut the rooster from an svg file from SVG Cuts and paper pieced him using the Stamp Runner.  I popped up the rooster onto the box with Tombow Foam Tabs. I used some Thickers Stickers to add "recipes" to the box.

Here is a tip for you:
When using any type of sticker, add a few drops of Tombow Mono Multi and you can be sure they will stay put for a long, long time

Mermaid Basswood Canvas

Good Morning!  This week the Tombow team has teamed up with the folks at Walnut Hollow to bring you lots of inspiration.

Today's creation started with a blank Basswood Canvas from Walnut Hollow.
My sister loves mermaids and I couldn't resist using this sweet Eva the Glam Mermaid digi image from Michelle Perkett.  I printed the image on some 140# cold press watercolor paper and then watercolored her with a variety of Tombow Dual Brush pens.

I used papers from the Authentique Fresh collection paired with some solid cardstocks from American Crafts.  For the paper to canvas and paper to paper applications, I used Tombow Mono Multi adhesive with the exception of Miss Eva Glam, I used Tombow Foam Tabs to pop her up off of the canvas just a bit.  For all of the seashells and flowers I used a combination of Tombow Power Tabs and Tombow Foam Tabs.

Look at this pretty rainbow of color!  When I watercolor, I layer many colors, so even though you might not see each color individually, they are there.
Yes, I was the kid in school who had to have every color of crayon in the box. :)
