RI WIW: Designer's Choice Challenge

Hey there y'all!  Happy Wednesday to each and every one of you!

I hope this finds you having a great week!

This week Repeat Impressions Rock Star, Cheri has challenged us to create a card/project with a Sun, Sand or Surf theme.

I love going to the beach and walking along the ocean edge and looking for shells so I chose to use one of my favorite Repeat Impressions shell images.

I love using cream and gold when I am creating sea themed cards, makes me think of the shimmer that you see in the sand.

I started with a top fold cream card and then added a panel to the top that was cut with a curved edge and embossed with a "bubble" embossing folder.  I added it to the card with foam tabs.  Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Sea Quartet #8508-U and the Conch Shell #2410-I with Versamark ink and embossed them with detail gold embossing powder.  I cut out the shell and mounted it to the bubble panel with a foam tab.

Now, be sure to head on over to each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and check out their awesome creations.

Now, we would love it if you would play along this week, you could have a chance to win an awesome prize.  Head on over to The House That Stamps Built blog and check out all of the details.

RI WIW-Color Challenge

Happy, happy Wednesday!  It is Color Challenge week on The House That Stamps Built blog and Wendy has given us these fun, summery colors to work with:

Aren't those colors the BOMB DIGGITY?

Here is my creation:

I know it looks like I used orange cardstock for the layer behind the image panel, but it is yellow in real life.  I tried to fuss with it when editing and this is the best I could get without totally ruining the tones of the other colors.  Someone please give me a lesson in photo editing in Photoshop.....I would love ya forever!

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Sunny Quartet #8511-U with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock and did some simple coloring with Copic markers.  I added some Aqua Stickles to the flowers on the sandals, but it sure is hard to see.  I told you I needed a photo editing lesson :)

I can't thank you enough for stopping by today and I would love it if you would check out my fellow Rock Star's blogs as well.

We would love to have you play along with the challenge as well, head on over to The House That Stamps Built for all of the details.  Wendy will be giving away an awesome prize to one lucky person who plays along :)

RI WIW-Color Challenge Week

Happy Wednesday!  Today on The House That Stamps Built blog, Wendy has given us a Color Challenge.  I love color challenges!

This week the colors are:

I love RED, WHITE and BLUE!

Have you ever had one of those times when you had a card all figured out in your head and when it went to paper, it was an epic fail?

That is what happened to me this week.  Finally after I fiddled around for a bit, I came up with this card:

I used a red and blue Tombow Dual Brush pen to color in the Repeat Impressions USA #3702-G and stamped it several times using my stamp positioner.

I created the little sparklers from some foil wrapping paper (from my stash) and toothpicks.

I added a little twine and called it good!

Please be sure to head on over to each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and check out their amazing creations using this color combo.

We would love to have you play along with the challenge as well, head on over to The House That Stamps Built for all of the details.  Wendy will be giving away an awesome prize to one lucky person who plays along :)

RI WIW-Designer's Choice Challenge

Hi there!

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog is the Designer's Choice Challenge and it is my turn to pick the challenge.  I picked a "Fresh & Fruity" Theme.

Right now, I am loving fresh grown strawberries and chose to use one of my favorite Repeat Impressions stamps to create my card.

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Strawberries #515-L onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  Next, I cut the image panel and two coordinating panels with some Cross Stitch Oval Dies and popped up the image panel with foam tape.  The oval panels are added to some pretty print layers and for a finishing touch I added some glitter glue and Glossy Accents to the leaves and pearls flanking each side of the image panel.

Be sure to stop by each of my fellow Rock Star's blogs and check out their Fresh and Fruity creations.

RI WIW-Sketch Challenge

Happy Wednesday friends!

It is Sketch Challenge week on The House That Stamps Built blog and Wendy has given us another amazing sketch to work with.  I love sketch challenges, do you?

I love this little bunny!  She is adorable!

I embossed a gray card base with a swirly embossing folder for starters and then I added the stitched rectangle and purple dot panel.  Next, I stamped the RI Clover Bunny #702-K in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with markers and die cut with a stitched circle die.  I added some Stickles to her blossoms for a little extra pop.  I stamped the sentiment Happy Hello #9717-C from the Contain Yourself collection and cut it out with another stitched circle die.

Here is Wendy's awesome sketch:

Please be sure to stop by each of my fellow Rock Star teamies and check out their

RI What If Wednesday--Color Challenge

Hello friends :)

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog Wendy has challenged us to use the following colors:

Well, you can help but think of Valentine's Day when you see these colors.  I often plot and plan cards out in my head and most of the time they end up nothing like I thought it would.  This card is the exception, it turned out just as I thought it would :)

I started with a red card base and added a white and pink print layer.  Next, I cut a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of white cardstock and stamped the Repeat Impressions Hugs and Kisses Stencil image #1215-H in 3 colors of pigment ink (a light pink, medium pink and red) and embossed them with sparkle embossing powder.  I added some Diamond Stickles to the medium pink XO and the little heart just to make it pop a bit more.

Please head on over to my fellow Rock Star teamies blogs and check out their amazing creations using this color combo.

We would love to have you play along with the challenge as well, head on over to The House That Stamps Built for all of the details.  Wendy will be giving away an awesome prize to one lucky person who plays along :)

RI WIW-Photo Inspiration

Hey there friends!  This week on The House That Stamps Built blog, Wendy has given the team a beautiful photo to inspire our creativity.

When I looked at the photo, I saw a gradient of black and gray with a pop of red.

I chose a couple of stamps from the Repeat Impressions Contain Yourself collection.  I stamped the Chocolate Drop 9715-C in a gradient of black and gray with the exception of one drop which I stamped in black, colored with red marker and then added glitter.  Once the glitter was dry, I added a layer of glossy accents over the top to add a little dimension and a lot of shine.  Next, I stamped the I Love You 9711-E in black and cut it with a banner end.  I cut the side of the chocolate drop and slid the sentiment panel behine the candy.

Here is the amazing photo:

RI What If Wednesday: Color Challenge

Hey, hey and happy Wednesday!  This week the What If Wednesday takes a different path and we are trying something new.  This week on The House That Stamps Built blog, Wendy has asked us to create a card or project using the following color scheme:

I don't know about you, but I LOVE a color challenge!

Of course, these colors scream winter to me!  Winter means beautiful snowflakes will fall (just not too much of the white stuff, okay?)

I created my card by stamping the snowflakes from the Repeat Impressions Snowflake Cluster #8805 in several different colors of blue ink.  This is a great way to use all of those ink pads that we had to have, right?

Next I embossed the RI Single Flake #8912-I with silver embossing powder and added it to the card front.  For some finishing touches I added some twine that has a tiny silver thread and some silver embellies to the top left and lower right corners of the card.

Be sure to check out each of the Rock Star's blogs this week and see all of their awesome creations.

RI WIW Sketch Challenge O114

Well, here we are again gathering together for the Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge on The House That Stamps Built blog.

I love sketch challenges and Wendy (owner at RI) always comes up with some good ones!

I am so in the Fall mode right now!  We finally got some much needed rain a few days ago and now I am ready for the pretty fall flowers :)

I stamped the RI Sunflower 4313-K in black ink and colored it with markers.  Next, I used some of my favorite oval dies to cut the image and coordinating green and yellow panels.  I added them to the yellow embossed panel with foam tape.  Next, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the RI Happy Birthday From 2501-H in black ink onto a small tag and tied some wrinkle ribbon through the holes on each end of the tag.

Now, for the fun part....the sketch!

We would love to have you play along with us, just use the sketch above as your inspiration and head on over to The House That Stamps Built blog and link up your amazing creation.  Afterall, you might just win some free stamps!

RI WIW S1714 Sketch Challenge

I love sketches and sketch challenges!  Whew, it felt good to say that :)
Sketches give me a jumping off point and sometimes that is just the push I need.

Today I am sharing a card I created for the Repeat Impressions WIW Sketch Challenge on The House That Stamps Built blog.

I can't believe that I have started making Halloween cards already.  I usually don't do too many Halloween cards, but when I saw this stamp I immediately thought "self portrait", I am sure that is what my family would say sometimes :)

I started with the RI Spooktacular #2309-G sentiment and instead of stamping it as it was designed I stamped the words on three lines instead.  To do this, you can just mask over portions of your stamps, ink what you need (remember to remove the mask) and stamp.  Repeat this for each word or words that you want to use.

Next, I stamped my self portrait by using the RI Halloween Witch #817-I in black ink and coloring her with markers.  I used scraps of paper (yeah!) to create each of the layers.

Check out this awesome sketch created by Wendy (owner of Repeat Impressions)

Would you like a chance to win some free stamps?  We would love for you to play along with this sketch challenge.  Did you know that as much as we would love for you to use Repeat Impression stamps, it is not necessary that you do in order to win.  This just may be your chance to score some Repeat Impressions stamps of your own!

You can find all of the details on The House That Stamps Built blog.

RI WIW S214 Sketch Challenge

Today I am sharing a card I created for the Repeat Impressions WIW Sketch Challenge on The House That Stamps Built blog.

I stamped the RI Glitter Star Ornament (Large) #3305-M in Cranberry ink, cut it out and added it to the print panel with foam tape.  Next, I created the tags for each side and added a brad and some print paper.  I stamped just the "Merry Christmas" from the RI May Your Heart 2203-H stamp onto the lower right tag.  Brads and glitter glue were added as a finishing touch.

Isn't this sketch great?

Be sure to head on over to The House That Stamps Built blog and check out all of the details for the challenge.  You can also find links to each of my ROCK STAR teammates blogs.

RI Project of the Week: Embossing Folder Backgrounds

Hi there, Melissa here and it is my turn to share a Project of the Week with you on The House That Stamps Built blog.

This week, I want to share some Embossing Folder Backgrounds with you.
Have you ever made EF Backgrounds?  If not, they are a tiny bit messy, but a ton of fun.  I like to make several at one time so that they are ready whenever I need them.

Gather a variety of embossing folders, inks, sprays and some cardstock.  I like to pre-cut 1/4 sheets of cardstock so that I can made several backgrounds at a time.

Apply the ink to either of the interior sides of the embossing folder, if you would like the inks to "move" around a bit, spritz with a light mist of water.  Lay cardstock in folder and emboss.

Look at all of these awesome backgrounds!

Grab some of your favorite Repeat Impressions rubber stamps and have some fun creating beautiful cards and projects.

Here are two cards I made:

I used the Repeat Impressions Tulip Bouquet #912-K and stamped it in black ink and colored with markers.  I cut the image with oval and scalloped oval dies and added some pearls and seam binding ribbon as a finishing touch.

I used the Repeat Impressions Nature Quartet #8506-U to create this card. I stamped the image in Rich Cocoa ink and then cut the panels apart to use them separately.

I would love for you to give this technique a try.  If you do, please come back and share a link to your project in the comments, I would love to see them.

RI WIW Sketch Challenge

Hey there, it is What If Wednesday on The House That Stamps Built blog and we have another great sketch to work with this week.

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Peaches #504-L in black ink onto white cardstock and colored them in with a variety of markers and colored pencils.  I added the image panel to a peach panel and then to the base card that I had layered with some print and embossed pieces.  For a final touch, I added 3 small flowers to the bottom corner and some rhinestones to the small blossoms.

Here is Wendy's great sketch:

It would be great if you played along with the challenge and have a chance and winning some great stamps.  You can find all of the details on The House That Stamps Built blog.
