Tombow Challenge Time--Jennie's Book Challenge

Hey there and happy Monday.  It is time for Jennie to share her challenge on the Tombow blog and Jennie has chosen a "Book" Theme.

For my project, I chose to make some Fall themed bookmarks.

I used one of my favorite Fall themed stamp sets from Reverse Confetti called Forever Fall.  I love to color my stamps with Tombow's Dual Brush pens and wanted to give it a try with this set.  I wasn't sure how well it would work because the stamps are clear and sometimes that can be a bit tricky.  I loved how these turned out.  I colored the images with the markers and then gave them a light spritz with water and stamped them onto some cream cardstock.  I wanted to keep these very simple as I am going to make quite a few and donate them to our local library to give to the kids when they check out books.

A little tip I gave a few days ago and want to repeat because I used it again today.

Use some Tombow Mono Aqua on your twine to stiffen it up a bit as this allows it to be much easier to tie in a bow.  The bow will really hold it's shape this way.  To do this, I just squirt some Mono Aqua out onto a scrap of cardstock and run the twine through it,  I use my fingers to lay the twine out nice and straight on my non stick craft mat and let it dry for a few minutes before I tie a bow or add to a project.

Now, how would you like to win this awesome prize pack?

It's Tombow Challenge Time-Birthday

Happy, happy Monday everyone!

This month it is my turn to host the challenge on the Tombow blog and since it is my birthday month (yes, I am celebrating ALL month) I am challenging each and every one of you to create a "BIRTHDAY" themed card/project.

I stamped the RI Gumball Machine #9702 in black ink and colored it in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens Jellybean Set.  Next I added the RI Gumballs #9710-I and colored them in.  I added some Glossy Accents and Microfine Warm Diamond Glitter to a few of the gumballs.  They look yummy! I added the gumball machine to the card using Tombow Foam Tabs.  Tombow Xtreme Adhesive was used to adhere each of the layers together.

I stamped the RI Have A Ball #9703-F onto a scrap of white cardstock and added it to the side of the gumball machine.  Next, I tied a twine bow around the machine and added some Stardust pen to the silver parts of the gumball machine.

Now, I challenge you to play along, you could win this awesome prize pack if you do!

Head on over to the Tombow Blog where you will find an INLINKZ to upload your BIRTHDAY themed card or project.

You Are My Sunshine

Hey there and happy, happy Monday to you!

Today, my friend Debbie Fisher has issued up a challenge on the Tombow blog.  Debbie has challenged us to create a card/project with a sunshine theme.

Well, the sun sure has been shining here and it made for some awesome inspiration for my card.

This card is a fun size at 3" x 6".  I started this one by heading to my Silhouette library and looking for a sun and sentiment.  I found this fun sun and cut it out in orange and yellow cardstocks.  I layered the orange to the yellow using Tombow Mono Multi and then popped it up using Tombow Foam Tabs and then adhered to the top left corner of my card with another foam tab.  The cloud and orange cardstocks were added to a yellow card base using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.

Next, I stamped the "You" and "are my" in black ink using the Reverse Confetti All About You set and then cut three of the "sunshine" with my Silhouette and stacked them using Tombow Mono Multi and added it to my card with a little more Mono Multi.

For the finishing touch I used Tombow Mono Aqua on the sun and the sentiment and then covered them with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

Would you like to win this awesome prize pack?

Be sure to head on over to the Tombow blog and check out the details of her challenge.  We would love it if you would play along.

Watercolor Hummingbird

Hi there!  Today on the Tombow blog, Marie has a new challenge called: Bird Inspiration.

I wanted to share one of my favorite bird cards.  I love hummingbirds and created this card using the Repeat Impressions hummingbird stamp. I used Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to adhere each of the flat panels together and Tombow Foam Tabs for each of the popped up layers.  The birds were watercolored with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then added some shimmer with Twinkling H20's.  I call this technique Twinkling Tombows :)

Be sure to head over to the Tombow blog and check out Marie's bird project and leave a comment to win this great prize:

Faux Bookpage

Hey there!  Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged.  I have some projects in the works and will be back to regular blogging again soon.

Today I am sharing a card that I created for Marie's challenge on the Tombow blog.  Marie challenged us to use the page from a book in our project.

I don't own one book that I was willing to tear a page out of, so I went faux for the challenge.

I stamped some kraft cardstock with the Hero Arts Newspaper Background stamp in dark brown ink.  For the main image, I used an ATC sized Art Board from Inchie Arts.  I watercolored the art square with Distress Stains and then stamped the background with the Newspaper stamp and a lighter brown ink.  Then I stamped the flowers from Penny Black in the darker brown ink.  Because the art board is a heavier weight, I used Tombow Mono Multi to adhere the art board to the cardstock layer and then again to the card.  Believe me, this baby isn't coming off in anyway!

I added the ribbon trim using Tombow Mono Adhesive and the button was attached using Tombow Power Tabs.

Be sure to play along with Marie's challenge for a chance to win a Tombow prize pack.

Color my world

Hi there!  Welcome to my blog!

This week on the Tombow blog Jennie issued a challenge to use three items from this Pinterest Inspiration board plus Tombow Mono Multi.  I loved this challenge as I took one look at the inspiration board and knew exactly what I wanted to create.  I loved the rainbow of colors and the touch of black in the picture of the pretty marble.

For starters, I picked six colors of Tombow Dual Brush pens from the Retro pen set and scribbled them in a rainbow pattern onto a piece of white cardstock.  Next, I spritzed the marker area with pearlized water (water with some pearl mica added) and then gently ran my finger between each of the colors to create a nice blending effect.

Once the rainbow piece was completely dry, I layered it to a lime green panel and a black card base using Tombow Adhesive Dots.  I stamped the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti, Dream in Color set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.   I used Tombow Mono Multi to adhere the butterfly die cut to the card and as an extra precaution, I added a drop of Mono Multi behind each of the rhinestones.
