RI WIW-Designers Choice Challenge-Heat Embossing

Hello friends!

This week on The House That Stamps Built blog my fellow Rock Star, Kathy has challengH

Easy peasy as heat embossing is everywhere in the card making world.

I remember the first heat embossing demo I saw, it was nearly 24 years ago! 

Needless to say, I left the store with a stamp, a pigment pad and ......a Milwaukee heat gun.  I still use the same Milwaukee heat gun to this day!

Now, on with the show....

I heat embossed the Repeat Impressions Rose Window 917-I in black and colored it in with Spectrum Aqua markers. I popped up the image panel onto some foam dots.  I also heat embossed the RI Wishing you Happiness 1819-I  in black powder.  

See, I told you it was easy peasy this week :)

It's Tombow Challenge Time-Birthday

Happy, happy Monday everyone!  

This month it is my turn to host the challenge on the Tombow blog and since it is my birthday month (yes, I am celebrating ALL month) I am challenging each and every one of you to create a "BIRTHDAY" themed card/project.

I stamped the RI Gumball Machine #9702 in black ink and colored it in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens Jellybean Set.  Next I added the RI Gumballs #9710-I and colored them in.  I added some Glossy Accents and Microfine Warm Diamond Glitter to a few of the gumballs.  They look yummy! I added the gumball machine to the card using Tombow Foam Tabs.  Tombow Xtreme Adhesive was used to adhere each of the layers together.

I stamped the RI Have A Ball #9703-F onto a scrap of white cardstock and added it to the side of the gumball machine.  Next, I tied a twine bow around the machine and added some Stardust pen to the silver parts of the gumball machine.

RI WIW Sketch Challenge A614

Hey, hey it's Wednesday and that means it is time for another awesome sketch challenge on The House That Stamps Built blog.  This week, Wendy has provided us with an awesome sketch.  Be sure to head on over to each of the Rock Star's blogs and check out their cards.  Lots of good stuff going on this week!

August is full of birthdays (mine included) so I thought I would share a fun birthday card to get "Birthday" month started :)

I started by stamping the Repeat Impressions Vertical Party Negative #5910-M in Versamark ink and then embossed the image with white detail powder.  I sponged on some orange and blue inks and trimmed and matted the image.  I stamped the RI Vertical Birthday #6401-J in black ink onto the left edge of the print panel.  

I finished off the card with some skinny rick rack ribbon and a few shimmer circle stickers.

This would be a great card for anyone in the family.  Go ahead, get the stamps and make a few for your stash....:)

CSS Color Challenge Hop

Hi there and thanks for stopping by for the Gina K. Designs Center Stage Spotlight Color Challenge

Kay chose the following GKD colors for us to choose from:  Dark Chocolate, Tomato Soup, Honey Mustard, In The Navy and Ivory as a neutral.

You should have arrived at my blog from Kay's amazing blog, but if you didn't you can go back to Stamp TV and start at the beginning.

I chose Ivory and In The Navy as my jumping off point.

I have had these print papers in my stash for some time and thought they would work perfectly for this challenge.  I see the Navy, Tomato Soup and Honey Mustard colors popping out everywhere!

I stamped this beautiful stem of leaves from the beautiful GKD Elegant Florals set that was illustrated by Theresa Momber with In The Navy, Tomato Soup and Honey Mustard inks.  I overlapped the branches ever so slightly to add some fullness to the sprays.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Navy as well.  For a finishing touch I added some Diamond Stickles to the Navy leaves only and added some ribbon, buttons and twine.

I think this will make a great masculine birthday card (even if there is a little glitter) :)

Happy Birthday and some BIG News!

Hi there!  Can you believe it is February 1st already?  I sure can't.  It seems like it was just Christmas.  Today I am sharing a card I created with the adorable Happy Birthday set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  I just love how whimsical this cake is and the font on the sentiment is AWESOME!

Ya ready for some big news?  A few weeks ago, my pal Kendra Wietstock e-mailed me and asked me if I would like to join the GRS Design Team.  Well, it didn't take me long to say yes.  I can't wait to get stampy with the amazing team at Gourmet Rubber Stamps.

I stamped the image in Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored it in with an assortment of markers and glitter pens.  It really does sparkle in person!  The sentiment was also stamped in the Rich Cocoa ink and attached to the card with a button that was tied with a pretty pink ribbon.  The larger brown layer was popped up onto the pink base card.

Mmmmm, ice cream

Hello!  I hope you are all recovering from the hustle and bustle of Christmas.  We had an amazing day with lots of good food and family time.

Today I am sharing some ice cream cone boxes that I made for an upcoming birthday celebration. 

I used my Silhouette Cameo and this cut file from SVG Cuts to create these adorable boxes.  The tops come off and you could easily fill the boxes with candies or small toys for the kiddos.

At first the boxes are a little fiddly to put together, but after I had completed the first one, they went together in a snap.  I started with the cones and cone panels first.  To create each of the cones, I used Tombow Mono Multi on each of the glue tabs and held them for a 5-10 count and they were nice and secure.  The cone panels are separate and I ran them through my Cuttlebug with a plaid embossing folder and then added some Tombow Mono Multi to each panel and applied them.  I added a little color to the bottom of the cones with some Tea Dye Distress ink.

The tops consist of the cone top and the panels that were cut from print papers.  Again, I used Tombow Mono Multi to hold the cone top together and then again to attach the panels to the cone.  For the top of each cone, I used a Tombow Power Tab to attach the red buttons creating a cherry on top of each cone.

Finally, I used an assortment of trims and embellishments to decorate each of the cones.

Don't you think these would make adorable party favors for a child's birthday party?  I sure do!
