GRS Color Challenge and Chef's Choice Giveaway

It's color challenge time on the Gourmet Rubber Stamps blog and today I am sharing two cards using the fun color scheme below.  I went with a coral instead of the pink...looks like the rebel in me is coming out!  :)

Be sure to scroll all the way down, because we are giving away one of the April Appetizer sets away to one lucky person!

For this card I used the new Say It Big Appetizer set to create this quick and easy card. Mask off the area in the center and then swipe different colors of ink across to create an ombre effect.  Remove mask and stamp sentiment in black ink.  Add a few dew drops and your done.  Easy peasy!

For this one I masked off lots of different sizes of circles and sponge ink to create the fun dotted background.  Next, I stamped the KJ Butterfly in aqua ink randomly. I stamped the butterfly again in coral colored ink onto a scrap of white cardstock and added the sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set in aqua ink and layered with some coordinating scraps.  The sentiment panel is popped up on foam tabs.

Here is the inspiration photo, see I told you I changed it up a bit!

Be sure to visit the rest of my teamies blogs as they have some amazing cards to share with you!

Sweet on You

Hi there, today I have joined up with the rest of the OutlawzTwisted Thursday team to bring you Valentine cards.

I went a little "die" crazy on this one as I used the new heart dies from Lifestyle Crafts and the TClassic/Scallop Rectangle Nesties.  The design was inpired from the FTL172 layout.  The sentiment is from the new MFT Pure Innocence Berry Sweet set

Be sure to pop over to the Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge and check out what the rest of the team has created.  We would love to have you play along as well.  You could win some nice prizes too!

CSS Blog Hop

Hi there, I am so happy that you have decided to join me and some of my pals from the Gina K. Designs CSS Alumni Design Team as we take you on a journey through our Treasure Chest.

Tonight we have dug into the treasure chest looking for lots of wonderful Holiday Treat Holders using either a Christmas or New Year's theme.  We hope you will find some great ideas for creating sweet little gifts for the special people in your life.

You should have arrived at my blog from Tera's blog, but if you didn't you can go back to StampTV and start from the beginning.

My little treat holders are fast and easy to make.  I started with a 6" x 8" piece of print cardstock and folded it in half to create a 3" x 4" pouch.  Add strong adhesive (I used Scor-tape) to the bottom (3") and the side (4").  You should have a pouch with a 3" opening at the top.  I used stamps from the GKD Winter Mittens set to create the decorative piece on the front of each pouch.  Embellish with your favorite ribbons and trims.
See, I told you they were fast and easy! =)

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (December 13), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!
 Free stamps = Christmas Happiness!

While I am thrilled that you stopped by for a visit, I am going to send you on your way to Lori's blog so that you can check out her amazing creation.

Card Drive for Kids

Happy Friday night!  Tonight I am sharing four cards that I created for some very special children.
Did you know that October is Spina Bifida month?  Tonight we are honoring 4 very special children.  Rebekah, Madison, Logan and Tanner.

You should have arrived at my blog from my awesome pal Kay Simmon's beautiful blog. If not, please head back to StampTV and start from the beginning as you don't want to miss the beautiful cards my fellow Center Stage Designers have to share with you.

for Rebekah
for Madison
for Logan
for Tanner
I created each of my cards using the amazing Stars set illustrated by Tami Mayberry for Gina K. Designs.  I love how this set can be used for so many different things.  It's limits are endless!

Here is what you can do:

  • Create a fun, uplifting card or cards for one or all the kids listed below (you can click on their names to read more about each of them). The card can be anything cheery, encouraging, supportive, etc.  Please DO NOT send sorry, get well or anything like that. Remember, we want to cheer them up. The kids:
    • Madison: 2 years old
    • Logan: 2 years old. (turning 3 on October 17th!!)
    • Tanner: 2 years old (turning 3 on December 25)
    • Rebekah: 9 years old
  • All cards need to have a message in it for the child/family.  Please also sign your name and where you are from.  On the card envelope, write the name of the child.  Please, don't seal the envelope, as the parents might want to read the cards before the kids see them.
  • Cards must be received by October 31st to be eligible for the drawing.
  • Mail your card(s) to Giovana along with a piece of paper with your name, address, e-mail address and blog (if you have one). This will help a lot to contact the winner a lot faster!:

Simple and Bright

Happy Friday! I hope this finds you gearing up for a fabulous weekend. We are supposed to have some rain today, but then it should clear up and I am hoping for great weather for next week/weekend. This card covers a couple of challenges. The first challenge was the Clean and Simple (CAS11) challenge at SCS. For this challenge we were to pick something from the JCPenney childrens bedding catalog as inspiration. I was inspired by the Melrose Accent pillows shown here. The next challenge is the StampTV color challenge from Monday (STVCC9). For that challenge you were to look to the rainbow for inspiration. I used the KISS technique with the bold flower, crackle and dotted images from Gina K Designs Bold Flowers Set. The inks used are from the Adirondack Brights collection. Have a great day!

Friends Bloom

I created this card using Sketch 38 from the Clean and Simple blog. The print cardstock is from Memory Box's Homespun collection. The stamps are from Anna's Friendly Expressions and Blooming Expressisons sets from Whipper Snapper. The flowers were colored with Copics and sparkled up a bit with Spica Glitter pens. The adorable 1/8" ribbon was a gift and I would love to find some more just like it. (hint to my ribbon buyer--you know who you are) :) Check out my new watermark, isn't it cool! It was made by Karen Giron, you can get one too. Just click here. happy sunday,

You're one of a Kind

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. I had a very relaxing day and found lots of time to "play" in my stamp room. First I worked on some projects that we will be putting on display in the store, I can't show you them right now, but soon. For this card, I used the Poppy from Anna's Blossoms and Butterflies set and the sentiment is from the Friendly Expressions set. The layout was inpired by a card I found while blurfing (blog surfing) The card is the second one in this post on Kristie Lee's blog, Cupcake Martini. I just recently found Kristie's blog and love her clean and simple style. Thanks for the inspriation Kristie!

The green checked print paper is from the Memory Box Homespun 6 x 6 paper pad. The orange print cardstock is from a Basic Grey 6 x 6 pad (I can't remember which one). I punched the lace edge with my Martha punch. The flower was stamped with Lettuce Adirondack ink on the stem and Espresso Adirondack ink on the blossom. I stamped the blossom twice and colored with my Copic markers. The second blossom was popped up on foam tape. I added a little shimmer with my Spica Glitter pens. The natural twine was from my stash. For the finishing detail, I added a rhinestone at the end of the sentiment in place of the period that was there.

hugs to all,
