RI WIW-Designers Choice Challenge

Can you believe it, it is What If Wednesday again on The House That Stamps Built blog and my fellow Rock Star, Deonna has challenged us to create a card/project with a Fur or Feathers theme.

This week, I chose to use the Repeat Impressions Play Time Puppy #4201-K and the sentiment from the Pets Quartet #8502-U.  I colored the puppy to look like my beloved dog, Abby.  Abby isn't with us anymore, but she truly has left her paw prints on my heart.

Please be sure to stop by each of the Rock Star's blogs and check out what they created for Deonna's challenge.

Once you have checked out each of the Rock Star's amazing projects, why not jump in and play along with the challenge, you could win a fabulous prize.

Head on over to The House That Stamps Built and check out all of the details.

Over the Top Holiday Hop

Hi there, this week the Tombow team is hopping with Fancy Pants.

I have created some great little gift boxes using papers from the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas collection.  I love all of the great colors in this collection, there was so much to work with :)

I used Tombow Mono Multi for holding each of the box edges closed and to create the paper bows.
I used Tombow Power Tabs to hold the ribbon and poinsettia in place on the floral box.
I used a Tombow Fastener Tab to hold the envelope flap closed on the music print box and Tombow Foam Tabs under the adorable little owl on the tag.

Now, here are some close up shots.

Hi there, the Tombow team is hopping again this week.  This week we are hopping with Stacy Julian.

You should have arrived at my blog from Debbie's blog, if you didn't you can head on back to Tombow's blog and start at the beginning.

I have created a card using some of the amazing Fancy Pants Panorama paper from the Memories Captured collection and the Reverse Confetti Inner Rock Star stamp set. I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots to adhere each of the flat layers together.  I used Tombow Foam Tabs to pop up the sentiment panel.  For the stars, I applied some Tombow Mono Aqua adhesive and then sprinkled some glitter to make them come to life!  My layout was inspired by sketch DS116 from The Deconstructed Sketch.

Hop with Tombow and Fancy Pants

Hi there!  This week the Tombow team hopping with the Fancy Pants team. Fancy Pants was so generous, it was hard to decide what to use. I created a Mini Photo Wallet using the Fancy Pants Collecting Moments collection.  Whew, say that fast three times!

If you just happened by my blog today, be sure to head back to the Tombow Blog and start the hop from the beginning.

Here are a few pictures of the wallet after I had completed the construction phase and below is a video (my first) showing all of the details once the wallet was complete.

I was inspired to create this wallet from this video by Jen Wright that I found on You Tube.   I changed a few things along the way, but the basic construction was from Jen's great tutorial.

After all of the pieces were cut, I began by giving all of the edges a quick swipe with some Tea Dye Distress ink and then I went about applying the pattern papers to each section using Tombow Power Bond for the larger sections.  For each of the little pockets, I used Tombow Mono Multi.  Mono Multi is great for adhering pockets because it dries completly and your tags, photos and notes will not get stuck inside.

I used several of the sticker from the Sticker Fundamentals sheet to embellish the tags/pockets after I had completed the construction of the wallet.  I added some Tombow Mono Multi to the back of each sticker to make sure that there was a long lasting hold.

As a finishing touch I added some May Arts trim that I adhered using Tombow Mono Multi.

Here is the video, I hope you like it!  I don't have a video camera so I used my Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone so I apologize for any shakiness.

Before I send you on your way to the Fancy Pants Blog where you can check out Diane and Mindy's awesome creations be sure to leave a comment each day on the blogs playing along for a chance to win some fun prizes and "like" both companies on their FB pages (Tombow & Fancy Pants) and then comment that you did and what you liked about the post.  Giveaway is only open to US/Canadian residents.

Love Bird

Hi there!  This week my fellow Tombow teamies are teaming up with Fancy Pants and have been sharing some amazing projects created with supplies from the Fancy Pants Love Note collection.  Today I am sharing a little Love Bird with you.

I pulled this little wooden bird out of my stash of "to be altered" items and coated both sides with Tombow Mono Multi and then added some of the pretty print papers from the collection.  I used SWAK for the front and Devotion for the back.

I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots to adhere the floral trimmed ribbon and then added some Tombow Mono Multi to hold the braid and then behind each of the buttons I used 1/4 of a Tombow Power Tab.

The sentiment is from the Sticker Fundamentals sheet and was mounted onto a banner from the Banners sheet.

I used a combination of Tombow Foam Tabs and Power Tabs to adhere each of the floral/ribbon elements.

Tag, you're it!!

Happy, happy end of the week!  It has been a busy week for me and I am glad to take a breather and enjoy some downtime.

I am still in "little gifts" mode and made some chocolate dipped sugar cookies with different types of Christmas sprinkles and then packaged them two to a bag and tied them off with some fun holiday tags.  I have added these to my treats basket and they are ready to go.

For each one of the tags, I used the awesome Fancy Pants Blissful Blizzard line.  I love everything about this line as it lends itself to everything from whimsy to elegant.  Each tag measures 2.5" x 4".

This tag was easy peasy as the paper is printed with all of the little elements on it and all I needed to do was add the print tag to a base tag using some Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots.  I wrapped some twine around the tag and then tied it off with a button and bow.  I added a Tombow Power Tab behind the button to hold it firmly in place. I used a little more twine and a smaller button to attach the tag to the bag. I stamped the to/from from the Paper Smooches Word Salad set and Merry Christmas from the Christmas Sampler set.

The next two tags were created just like the first in that I adhered the print piece to the solid using Tombow Mono Adhesive Dots.  The accent stripes on both tags are from the Blissful Blizzard Tape Stickers sheet.  The tape stickers were self adhesive but just to be sure that they would not come up I added some Tombow Mono Multi to each strip.  I cut the poinsettias out with my Silhouette Cameo and this file.  The leaves are cut from this one and that one.  I used Tombow Mono Multi to attach the leaves and Tombow Power Tabs to attach the flowers.  The tags were tied to the bags with twine.

Remember crafters, don't forget your package delivery people, little gifts like this are the perfect way to say thank you for their awesome service.

Tombow/Fancy Pants Blog Hop

Hi there!  Today is my turn on the Tombow blog to hop along with the gang at Fancy Pants.  Fancy Pants sponsored us by sending each of the Tombow DT tons of goodies from the Oct 31 line to play with.  I was thrilled when I received my goodies as I hadn't started my Halloween cards yet and this gave me the perfect opportunity to get started.

For my first card I used the adorable Frankie digi image from By Lori Designs.  Isn't he cute?  I  colored him in using Irojiten Colored Pencils and Gamsol.   These pencils really blend so easily with this technique.
In addition to the polka dot print from the Oct 31 line, the word "spooky" is from the Oct 31 Chipboard Elements pack.  I used Tombow Foam Tabs to attach the image panel and spooky chipboard to the card.  All  other layers were affixed with Tombow Mono Permanent Stamp Runner.
For this card I started with a base of Gina K. Designs Sweet Mango cardstock.  It is perfect with the Oct 31 line.  I created the flower using some of the circles from the Filter Embellishments pack and the flourish from the Chipboard Elements pack to represent the leaves.  I stamped Happy Halloween from Inkadinkado in black ink and colored in with a Tombow Dual Brush Marker.  The sentiment and  flourish were given a bit of sticky with the Tombow Glue Pen and then sprinkled with lime green glitter.
For my final card, in addition to the cool Oct 31 papers, I used Buttons and Glitter Cuts.  I attached the striped  panel and the Tricks or Treats glitter cut with with Tombow Foam Tabs, the buttons with Tombow Power Tabs. The buttons were tied with a wee bit of black/white twine.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit with me today.  I  would love to hear which card was your favorite and why.

Free Broom Rides

Hi there and happy Friday! I am so excited as this is my first official post as a Tombow Design Team member.  I can't tell you how thrilled I was to be chosen for this team.  I can't wait to jump in and get my feet wet.

This week we are getting ready for Halloween.  I thought I would share a card I made with the adorable Witchy Prue digi image from By Lori Designs. I used cardstock from the Fancy Pants Oct 31 collection.
First, you will want to gather your image, cardstock, and adhesives.  I colored little Prue with Tombow Irojiten colored pencils and then cut her out with my oval nesties dies.
I affixed all of the layers to the base card with Tombow Permanent Stamp Runner and then used Tombow Foam Tabs for the image and words.
Here she is all put together and ready to start her Halloween festivities.  Isn't she adorable?
See you soon,
Melissa
