Happy Wednesday Friends!

Today on The House That Stamps Built blog, sweet RI Rock Star, Joy has challenged the team to create a card with a "Thank You" theme.

Well, that was pretty easy peasy :)

I decided to try something new (to me) with this card.  I used the "no line" coloring method.  I stamped the adorable RI Belle #701-K in Memento Desert Sand ink and colored her in with the following Spectrum Noir markers:  BG1, CR2, EB1, EB2, HB1, HB2, HB3, LG2, TN1 and the Blender.  I took my time and worked each section one at a time until I liked how it was looking.  I added some texture to her jacket with some very light cross hatching with the Blender pen.  

I stamped the RI Beary Much #1920 in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I wanted the sentiment to have a little curve to it, so I just bent it a little when adding it to the acrylic block.

I want to thank Joy for giving me the beautiful papers that I used on this card, they are the softest lilac colors and they are so pretty.  :)

Spring is in the Air

I can't believe it is February already.  We have had a very mild winter here and some days it has been very spring like.  I do love Spring but we desperately need some snow pack in the hills to help with the water problems that we are having here in Cali.

I have been inspired by the weather though and created this card:

I created a watercolor background using Spectrum Noir Re-inkers and Blending Solution and then stamped this silhouette image over the top.  I added some Stardust Stickles for a little pop of shine.

Bamboo Love

Hey there, I am back with the second card in my Valentine card series.  This one uses the adorable Party Paws-Love from Bamboo Cling stamp set.

I really like that you can color Bamboo as a Panda or and adorable Teddy bear just by switching up the colors used.  I went the Panda route on this card, but will do a Teddy soon. :)

RI Project of the Week: Christmas Gift Bags

Hi there!  It's Melissa and this week I am going to share some quick and easy Christmas gift bags with you.

First up, you will want to gather your supplies:

I have pulled lots of Winter/Christmas paper scraps, some assorted ribbon, jingle bells, Action Wobblers, some of my favorite Repeat Impressions holiday stamps and a couple of Tootsie Rolls...a girl always needs a little sugar to help her when she is crafting :)

Stamp and color your images (do several at once):

Once your images are stamped, colored and cut out, set aside and work on some decorative panels for your bags, here is a close up of one of the bags:

I used the Repeat Impressions Holly Santa #302-K and the Merry Christmas #1141-F to create my gift bags.  I stamped Santa in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment was stamped in the same ink and then I inked up the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.  I cut the decorative panels with dies and also edged them with the Brushed Corduroy ink.  Mr. Santa is on an Action Wobbler as he likes to dance :)

Here is a tip for you:

When your embossing folders have more than one pattern (especially theme specific), think about how you can use the folder to isolate just a portion of the pattern as I have done above.  The Christmas Elegance Embossilicious folder has snowflakes on one end and these great dots on the other end, so I just used the dot end allowing for a broader use of the folder.  You gotta love that!

RI WIW Sketch Challenge-Happy Easter

Happy, happy Wednesday everyone!  Thanks for stopping by today.   I have to say it has been a CRAZY busy week for me.  Things will slow down soon....right?

Today I am sharing an Easter card I created using a wonderful sketch created by Wendy at Repeat Impressions.  I love Wendy's sketches, they always get me thinking.  Head on over to The House That Stamps Built blog and play along with the sketch challenge.  Take a chance at winning a fabulous prize :)

I stamped the Repeat Impressions Ode to Spring #2605P in Memento Black ink and colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers.  It is hard to see the color on the bunny as I used light colors, but the card is so pretty in person.  The sentiment is the Repeat Impressions Beauty of Springtime #1304-J.  I added some embossing to the sentiment panel and popped it up using Tombow Foam Tabs.  I made faux buttons for the accent circles.  The pretty papers are from the Pebbles Garden Party collection.
